The NEX-6 is an enthusiast level mirrorless camera that features the high-resolution OLED viewfinder we first saw on the NEX-7 and builds on the capabilities that appeared on the recent NEX-5R. Filmed at 10mm. A boat in waves, lots of spray, pitching rolling, movement, very intricate detailed waves flying past. Can the camera cope? Watch the video to see. The lens was a Tamron 10-24mm with a polarising filter fitted, the lens was around 10mm when filming, to get an ultra wide view of the boat. The spray and the boat are fast moving and complex, great test to see how the camera copes with moving objects. The new Nikon d5100 has a 16.2 MP CMOS sensor much like that in the D7000, 1080p movie capability and a side-articulated 921K dot 3.0″ tilt/swivel LCD. The D5100 also becomes the first Nikon DSLR to be able to apply special processing filters to stills and video. The company has also introduced the ME-1 external microphone. The camera will be available from this month as a kit with the 18-55mm VR lens for 9.95 while the microphone will retail at 9.99.

After installing it for FW 1.0.8 you can upgrade to FW 1.0.9 and the version for FW 1.0.9 will work too. It is not yet known whether the .fir file for the 1.0.9 works or not. (the autoexec files will work however)

Testing out 1080p movie mode in raw format, as well as my film editing skills. About 80% captured using a Nikon Series E 50mm f1.8 lens in manual mode. I also used the stock lens (Nikkor 18-55mm AF f3.5) for a couple sequences. All sequences shot with manual focus. Various indoor shots, day and night. Lots of low light situations. The film, “Energy of Colors” was created using the vibrant hues of Okinawa’s flora and fauna to symbolize life itself. While on location, the photographer took advantage of the D5000’s Vari-angle monitor while shooting with a tripod as well as when capturing small creatures such as hermit crabs at low angles. Using an ND filter to maintain maximum aperture, the photographer was able to utilize beautifully cinematic image blur, thanks to the D5000’s large image sensor. AE lock was used to keep the same exposure level when panning. Combine these steps with the radiant Okinawan sunshine and the result is the impressive D-Movie footage you see here.

This is a video intended to show the quality of the Nikon D90 video mode, not to show photographic creativity. You can see the “rolling shutter” a little without the slow-mo, but with it, you can see everything, and it is really irritating. But at least the prank was fun! 🙂

Trying out my D60’s stop motion feature for the first time
Some Shots were filmed at very awkward angles without tripod, so they are shaky. Also, a lot were filmed through windows, because it was rainy. Just got my new Canon T3, and i love it. I use it for videos as well as photos. It has auto focus and manual. my favorite feature is the button that zooms in on the image on the screen, so you can focus it more accurately. Love this camera,
