PART I: Stereoscopic Animation And Motion Graphics This tutorial should provide a starting point for establishing a basic stereoscopic workflow in Adobe After Effects. Please note that this is just an exemplary workflow that you are free to modify according to your needs. For instance, “Auto Link Properties” should not generally be turned on, since it causes increased conversion and rendering times. Also, this tutorial is not a comprehensive explanation of the stereo scripts – only very few features are demonstrated. You can download the scripts here: www.pinkau.com

During my visit to Pixar Animation Studios in March, I got to interview Stereoscopic Supervisor, Bob Whitehill who describes himself as the person who gives you a headache when you watch 3d movies. He then went onto explain that hopefully, if he’s done his job right, you shouldn’t be experiencing that headache when watching one of his movies. He talks to us in depth about working with 3d in Toy Story 3. Please note, some small spoilers are mentioned during the interview.

12 Apr

“Break Of Reality” A 60 min stereoscopic audio-visual meditation session where binaural sound beats presented as a combination of Alpha and intense Theta Brainwave Stimulation combined with subliminal visual stimulators in Anaglyph 3D. Designed to help you develop PSI abilities, this allows the viewer to experience sensations that are normally not apparent in every day life. In theory this connection to a higher plane often gets established when we experience something unique , something that everyone can now experience though our meditation sessions. sites.google.com Auto-stereoscopic 3D Display. No need for special Glasses NAB 2009 #3 alioscopyusa.com Alioscopy’s displays are equipped with an array of lenticular lenses that cast different images onto each eye. Each lens magnifies a different point of view for each eye because it is viewed from slightly different angles. This results in a state of the art visual stereo effect. Alioscopy technology supports both 2D and 3D content in full HD resolution (1920 x 1080p). Standard video can be shown as well as specific 3D content, rendered with typical 3D software such as 3ds Max, Maya, Lightwave, and XSI. The Alioscopy display uses 8 interleaved images to produce the autostereoscopic 3D effect. The eight images can be created by a variety of methods, but they must represent 8 views of the 3D scene created by the Off-Axis Projection Method. Off-Axis Projection requires the use of asymmetric camera viewing cones as can be seen in the figure below. The left cone is in blue, the right in red.
