Product features:

Astonishing image-resolving power and wide tonal reproduction

Compact and lightweight large format standard zoom
Weighing 2.2lb (1,005g), measuring 5.69in (144.5mm) long, and having a diameter of 3.66in (93mm), the lens is extremely portable and compact despite being a 2.2x zoom for a large format camera system.

Fast, quiet and highly-accurate AF
The use of an Internal Focusing system has minimized the size and weight of the focusing group, which is driven by a linear motor to achieve fast, quiet and highly accurate AF.

Powerful image stabilization
The lens is equipped with five stop image stabilization (CIPA guidelines), allowing
photographers to make the most of the high-resolution sensors found in GFX System
cameras, especially when making images hand-held.

Highly robust design that withstands various shooting conditions
The lens has 11 seals for dust and weather resistance to allow for peace of mind in
tough environments, allowing for operation at temperatures down to 14°F / -10°C.

The GF45-100mmF4 R LM OIS WR lens will be available in late February 2020, at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $ 2,299.95 USD and $ 2,999.99 CAD. For more information, please visit https://fujifilm-x.com/en-us/products/lenses/gf45-100mmf4-r-lm- ois-wr/.

Nikon’s 70-200 F2.8 for Z-mount to ship in February

07 Jan

$ (document).ready(function() { SampleGalleryV2({“containerId”:”embeddedSampleGallery_4387714916″,”galleryId”:”4387714916″,”isEmbeddedWidget”:true,”selectedImageIndex”:0,”isMobile”:false}) });

Nikon’s new Nikkor Z 70-200mm F2.8 VR S is the first full-frame tele-zoom for the company’s Z-mount. The lens has Vibration Reduction built-in – which works in tandem with the Z6 and Z7’s in-body IS system – and can reduce shake by up to 5 stops.

As with Nikon’s F-mount 70-200s, the Z-mount version has both internal focus and zoom. The company claims minimal focus breathing and also that this is a parfocal lens, keeping the subject in focus as you zoom. It has a total of 21 elements, including one SR (short wavelength refracting) to reduce longitudinal chromatic aberration, as well as 6 ED, 2 aspherical and 1 fluorite elements. It also features Nikon’s Nano Crystal and Arneo coatings to minimize both off-axis and on-axis flare, respectively. The 70-200 can focus down to 0.5m at its wide end and 1m at its telephoto end, with a maximum magnification of 0.2x. These short focus distances are achieved using two separately driven autofocus units.

The 70-200 F2.8 weighs in at 1.4kg (3.2lbs) and uses 77mm filters. A customizable control ring allows for quick adjustment of aperture or exposure compensation, and a digital display shows things like aperture and focus distance. As with other high-end Z-mount lenses, the 70-200 is weather-sealed.

The Nikkor Z 70-200 F2.8 VR S will be available in February for $ 2599.

LAS VEGAS – CES BOOTH #14018 (January 6, 2020 at 9:00 P.M. ET / 6:00 P.M. Finally, the COOLPIX P950 is a powerful new addition to Nikon’s superzoom bridge camera lineup, offering creators a spectacular 83x optical zoom and a myriad of innovative features to take their creativity to new heights.

“Nikon continues to innovate and push the boundaries of what’s possible in imaging and lens technology,” said Jay Vannatter, Executive Vice President, Nikon Inc. “The new NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S takes advantage of the next-generation optical system offered by the Nikon Z mount to create a versatile 70-200mm lens with astounding sharpness and clarity, cementing this S-line lens as a staple for those who demand only the best from their lenses.”

The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S – Astonishing Details, Uncompromising Zoom
An essential pro-level telephoto zoom lens re-imagined to take advantage of the optical potential of the Z series, the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S is the latest addition to Nikon’s rapidly growing lineup of mirrorless lenses. The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 represents a pivotal lens for the Z series and a must-have for those shooting action, weddings, events, news, wildlife and portraits. Equipped with a versatile focal range, fast f/2.8 aperture and an impressive 5 stops of built-in optical VR image stabilization1, the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm gives mirrorless shooters the flexibility to capture astoundingly sharp images and videos in a variety of scenarios. Additionally, multimedia and content creators using the lens will appreciate the stepping motor (STM) for extremely quiet autofocus operation and reduced focus breathing.

The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S demonstrates the technological benefits of the Nikon Z mount to reinvent a classic lens, while including new features to make this photographer favorite even more superior for Z series users. Parfocal support maintains focus when zooming, while a reduced minimum focus distance (0.5m wide, 1.0m telephoto) vastly increases versatility for photos and video. When used in combination with the in-body stabilization of the Nikon Z 6 and Z 7, the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 promises unparalleled stability with additional optical stabilization. Like other S line lenses, the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 boasts a premium optical design complete with a 9-blade diaphragm as well as Anti-Reflective Nano Crystal and ARNEO coatings for maximum image quality in any light, with a Fluorine coating that resists dirt and smudges. The new NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S and AF-S NIKKOR 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR are the first Nikon lenses to feature the newly developed SR (Short-Wavelength Refractive) lens element, a specialized-dispersion glass lens featuring characteristics that greatly refract light with wavelengths shorter than that of blue. By controlling short-wavelength light that is difficult to compensate, the lens can more effectively collect light of various specific wavelengths and achieve highly precise chromatic aberration compensation.

AF-S NIKKOR 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR: Impressive Reach, Incredible Speed, Absolute Versatility
The all-new AF-S NIKKOR 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR is a versatile, professional lens for the Nikon F mount with a large focal range and fast constant aperture. Ready for professional use, the lens is sealed to resist the elements and is engineered for maximum usability, even when handheld. The zoom ring, focus function buttons, tripod collar ring and controls are all designed to ensure superior operability for more comfortable shooting.

Panasonic has announced its fourth L-mount lens: the Lumix S Pro 24-70mm F2.8. The company is making no small claims about it: promising superior bokeh and sharpness. To that end, the 24-70mm uses 18 elements in 16 groups, including three aspherical lenses, four extra-low dispersion lenses and one UHR (ultra-high refractive index) lens.

As with the other ‘S Pro’ lenses, the design is certified by Leica (though the lens isn’t branded as Panasonic/Leica, since Leica designs its own L-mount lenses).

Panasonic also touts the lens’s high-speed autofocus. The system is powered by both linear and stepping motors, and a focus clutch allows for quick switches between auto and manual focus. The lens is dust and splash-resistant, as well as freeze-proof to -10°C (14°F).

The 24-70mm F2.8 should will offer video shooters benefits such as silent focusing, and Panasonic claims that the lens exhibits minimal focus breathing.

The Panasonic Lumix S Pro 24-70mm F2.8 will cost $ 2200 when it ships in mid-October.

Panasonic Launches a New L-Mount Interchangeable Lens for the LUMIX S Series Full-frame Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Camera

LUMIX S PRO 24-70mm F2.8 (S-E2470)

Newark, NJ (August 27, 2019) – Panasonic is proud to introduce a new interchangeable standard zoom lens, the LUMIX S PRO 24-70mm F2.8 (S-E2470) compatible with the L-Mount system for the LUMIX S Series Full-frame Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Camera. Developed with high-quality professional performance in mind, the LUMIX S Series of cameras and lenses together achieve uncompromised photographic expression..

The LUMIX S PRO 24-70mm F2.8 (S-E2470) is a large-aperture standard zoom lens that boasts high descriptive performance across the entire zoom range. Optical performance is remarkably high, passing stringent LEICA standards.

The rugged dust- and splash-resistant* design withstands harsh conditions and ensures versatile use for landscapes, snaps and portraits with its 24-70mm focal length. The LUMIX S PRO 24-70mm F2.8 features stunningly high resolution and high contrast at each focal length point, with a filter diameter of 82 mm and an 11-blade circular aperture diaphragm. The full-range F2.8 high-speed aperture provides smooth defocus gradation from the focus peak to the neighboring area of the image to achieve a beautiful bokeh effect as well as a rich perspective.

Comprised of 18 lenses in 16 groups, three aspherical lenses and four ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses effectively suppresses both axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration of magnification. The aspherical shape of the lenses corrects astigmatism, achieving high resolving performance. Furthermore, a UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens achieves uniform image quality from the center to the edges of the image while downsizing the lens unit.

A double focus system combining linear and stepping motors achieves sensor drive at a maximum speed of 480 fps. This realizes fast, high-precision AF, ensuring the user never misses a photo opportunity. Focus clutch mechanism adoption enables instant AF/MF switching and accurate manual focusing. The LUMIX S PRO 24-70mm F2.8 also excels in video recording performance with a mechanism that suppresses focus breathing, a common problem in all interchangeable lenses designed for still image photography.

By 2020, Panasonic will design and develop 10 or more Lumix S Pro and other lenses, further expanding the S Series lens lineup. More than 45 interchangeable L-Mount lenses are or will be available from Panasonic, Leica Camera AG and Sigma, demonstrating an almost limitless spectrum of new creative possibilities.

The LUMIX S PRO 24-70mm lens will be available in October for $ 2199.99.

*Dust and Splash Resistant does not guarantee that damage will not occur if this lens is subjected to direct contact with dust and water.

Ricoh GR III, with updated lens, 24MP APS-C sensor and in-body IS to ship in March

22 Feb

Five months after its development announcement, the Ricoh GR III will be shipping this March for $ 899. Unlike the GR II, which was a very minor upgrade to the original, the major components on the GR III are all-new.

The controls have received a major shake-up as the GR III becomes the first in the series to use a touchscreen. The screen is a 3.0″, 1.04M-dot LCD, with all of the usual features like AF point selection, menu navigation and image review onboard.

It also gains image stabilization, with a 3-axis sensor-shift system offering shake reduction rated at up to four stops. This ‘SR’ system can also be used to simulate an AA filter for when moiré reduction is desired. And there’s now an ultrasonic dust reduction system for the sensor, which is perhaps a nod to the dust problems that some encountered on the GR I and II.

$ (document).ready(function() { SampleGalleryV2({“containerId”:”embeddedSampleGallery_5351077098″,”galleryId”:”5351077098″,”isEmbeddedWidget”:true,”selectedImageIndex”:0,”isMobile”:false}) });

The GR III’s autofocus system has been overhauled, with the addition of on-sensor phase detection. This, along with a redesigned lens, gives us hope that the GR II’s autofocus will be quicker than its predecessors. Ricoh is yet to provide any technical details but says it will be ‘faster and more responsive.’

The GR III’s 28mm equiv. F2.8 lens has six elements in four groups, with two elements being aspherical. The lens can now focus as close as 6cm (2.4″), compared to 10cm (3.9″) on the previous models. The GR III continues to offer a built-in 2-stop ND filter.

The resolution of the GR III’s APS-C sensor has been bumped from 16MP to 24MP, with a fully expanded ISO range of 100 – 102,400. The GR III can now record 1080/60p video, but no 4K. Ricoh has added a Type-C USB 3.0 port on the camera (which can be used to charge the battery,) and connectivity options now include Bluetooth in addition to Wi-Fi.

Two things that the GR III lost are its built-in flash and a fair amount of its battery life. The latter has plunged from 320 shots to 200 shots per charge – a 38% drop – despite using a higher capacity battery. More than likely, the addition of in-body IS puts the biggest hit on battery life.

As mentioned above, the GR III will be yours to purchase in March for $ 899. A new 0.75x wide-angle adapter (GW-4) will also be available for $ 249.

Ricoh launches RICOH GR III high-end, compact digital camera

Newest model in the popular RICOH GR series delivers exceptional image quality in a smaller, lightweight body, making it ideal for street photography

WEST CALDWELL, NJ, February 21, 2019 – Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation today announced the launch of the highly anticipated RICOH GR III camera. The new camera is the latest model in the RICOH GR series, a lineup of high-end digital cameras providing exceptional image quality in a compact, lightweight body ideal for street photography, travel and capturing candid images.

The RICOH GR III features a newly designed lens, image sensor and imaging engine that further upgrade image quality, enhance functionality and improve usability. The 18.3mm F2.8 lens delivers exceptional imaging performance with a slim design, consisting of six optical elements in four groups, while retaining the 28mm angle of view. It produces the clearest, sharpest images in GR-series history while reducing distortion and chromatic aberration. It also comes equipped with a macro shooting capability with a minimum focusing distance of six centimeters.

In keeping with the GR-series concept of packaging high image quality in a compact design, the RICOH GR III camera body is smaller than its predecessor, and is equipped with a large APS-C-size CMOS image sensor with approximately 24.24 effective megapixels to produce high-resolution images. Its short start-up time of approximately 0.8 seconds allows for quick, responsive shooting. The camera’s high-definition LCD monitor features touchscreen operation, offering intuitive control of various camera functions right on the screen.

The camera also features a high-speed hybrid autofocus system, built-in shake reduction, in- camera image finishing options, USB Type-CTM, Bluetooth and wireless LAN connectivity options. An accessory wide-angle conversion lens designed exclusively for use with the RICOH GR III is also available. The GW-4 Wide Conversion Lens expands the angle of view to 21mm ultra-wide angle.

“The Ricoh GR III is the ultimate street camera,” said William Hereford, a Brooklyn-based pro photographer, who has been shooting with GR series cameras for years. “The image quality and ease of use are equally amazing. I literally don’t leave my house without this camera. The GR III fits perfectly both in my hand and my pocket, so it is always available to capture a moment.”

Hereford says that the image quality is so great, that photos taken with his GR cameras have the potential to be used in national ad campaigns and magazine articles.

Designed to be the ultimate street photography camera, the RICOH GR III is a totally new breed of GR camera that will give the user new and different creative possibilities.

Weather-resistant Fujifilm 16mm F2.8 lens to ship in March for $399

14 Feb

The Fujifilm XF 16mm F2.8 R WR is a compact and lightweight wide-angle prime for the company’s APS-C mirrorless bodies. The lens is equivalent to 24mm when mounted on an X-series camera, such as the new X-T30. It contains a total of 10 elements (two of which are aspherical) and nine rounded aperture blades.

The lens, which weighs just 155g/5.5oz, uses a stepping motor for ‘fast and quiet autofocus’ and can focus as close as 17cm/6.7in. The lens is weather-sealed at nine points around the barrel and can function at temperatures as low as -10°C/+14°F.

The XF 16mm F2.8 R WR will be available in black in March, with the silver version to follow in May. The suggested retail price for both is $ 399.

Panasonic S1/S1R to ship in March; HLG Photo and High-Res mode added to feature list

08 Jan

Panasonic has announced that its Lumix DC-S1 and DC-S1R full-frame mirrorless cameras will ship at the end of March. The company also disclosed two previously unmentioned features that will be offered on both cameras.

First is a ‘HLG Photo Mode’, which captures photos with high dynamic range using the Hybrid Log Gamma profile. Photos are saved as HSP files, which can be viewed on HLG-compliant devices.

These will be among the first cameras to be able to take advantage of the latest HDR displays: showing a natural-looking image with a wider dynamic range (not squeezing a wide dynamic range into the limitations of older, standard-DR monitors). The movie and broadcast industries have already developed a series of standards for capturing and showing HDR footage but there’s been less progress in the photographic world.

Apple’s recent iPhones can capture and display HDR images but it’s not clear which standard they’re using: the HDR images only currently appear as HDR on the device’s own screen. By adopting the simple and increasingly widespread HLG system (currently used by the BBC and cameras from Panasonic, Fujifilm and Sony), Panasonic could help establish a way for photographers to shoot and edit HDR stills, knowing that some displays will know how to show them correctly.

The second feature is a multi-shot high-resolution mode, that uses the camera’s sensor-shift image stabilizer. The camera moves the sensor a tiny amount to capture eight separate exposures, which are combined into a single image with high levels of detail. A ‘suppress motion blur’ option is available, which we’ll surely be testing once we have an S1/S1R to review.

Press Release

Panasonic Announces Additional Key Functions for the New Full-frame Mirrorless Camera at CES 2019

Las Vegas, NV (January 7, 2019) – Following an announcement at Photokina 2018, Panasonic will unveil additional key features of the new LUMIX S full-frame mirrorless cameras at CES 2019. The LUMIX S full-frame mirrorless cameras and lenses will be available at the end of March 2019.*

A Whole New Style of Photo Expression

High Dynamic Range Still Photo – HLG Photo Mode

HLG Photo allows images to be shot with a wider dynamic range. By reproducing both glaring lights and dark shadows that are likely to be overexposed or underexposed, the Lumix S achieves rich, precise color expression as close as possible to visual memory.

HLG Photos are produced as an HSP file. The user can play back these vibrant images on the latest Panasonic HLG-compliant 4KTV via HDMI cable connection or other HLG-compliant devices. It is also ideal for photographers’ photo presentations.

Stunning Details with a Realistic Sensation

High Resolution Mode

Taking advantage of the Body Image Stabilizer. (I.S.) mechanism, eight consecutive images are automatically shot while shifting the sensor. These eight images are synthesized into a single image by the new Venus Engine, which boasts high-speed signal processing. Precise details are faithfully reproduced to be saved as a beautiful, highly realistic image. This mode is ideal for shooting natural landscapes or fine art objects with delicate details.

Considering situations where moving subjects are included in the scene, sub options are available to suppress motion blur, so photographers can use this mode the same as shooting in a normal photo shooting mode.
