Ricoh GR III sample gallery updated

We’ve already found plenty to like about the Ricoh GR III, and as we’ve been working through our full review of the camera we’ve added more images to our existing sample gallery. While we put the final touches on the review take a look through what we’ve been shooting with the GR III in the past couple of weeks.

Nikon Z 14-30mm F4 S sample gallery

Nikon’s 14-30mm F4 is a compact ultra-wide zoom for the company’s Z-series mirrorless system. By offering an F4 constant aperture rather than F2.8, the 14-30mm is lighter in weight (it’s just 485g / 17oz) and is able to accept screw-in 82mm filters. We’ve been itching to shoot with it ever since we got a glimpse of it at the CP+ show last month in Japan – click through our gallery to see how it performs.

We’re putting the finishing touches on our review of the HD Pentax-D FA* 50mm F1.4 SDM AW – a lens we already know to be very large and very sharp. Panasonic Lumix S Pro 70-200mm F4 OIS sample gallery

Panasonic’s S Pro 70-200mm F4 is one of three lenses to launch with the full-frame S system, covering a popular focal range with a claimed 6 stops of stabilization to boot. We took it along on a few shooting excursions recently to get a feel for its performance shooting sports, planes and general springtime scenery around town.

Nikon Z 24-70mm F2.8 S sample gallery

Nikon’s new Z 24-70mm F2.8 S promises a substantial size and weight reduction compared to its F-mount predecessor and a boost in optical quality. We recently received a final copy of Nikon’s latest pro-grade standard zoom and wasted no time taking it out for some shooting.

Over the course of three days we took the Z 24-70mm F2.8 S for a rainy walk around Portland, a cloudy hike up Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge, and a sunny stroll around Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood. Take a look at our gallery of converted Raw files to see how the new lens performed.

Ricoh GR III sample gallery

Ricoh’s long-awaited 24MP GR III is finally shipping, and we’ve been shooting with a production sample for a few days to see how it performs. The GR III is a major update to the APS-C GR series, offering a higher-resolution sensor, a redesigned 28mm equiv. lens, in-body image stabilization and a hybrid AF system, among other refinements. In the process, Ricoh has shaved off a few of the GR II’s external controls and deleted the built-in flash.

The GR II was always going to be a tough act to follow. Does the Mark III version deliver the goods? Take a look through our gallery to see for yourself.

We just got our hands on the new Pentax 11-18mm F2.8 DA* – a premium wide-angle zoom lens for Ricoh’s APS-C format Pentax DSLRs. Tough and weather-sealed, the 11-18mm is intended to satisfy the needs of Pentax users who want to go wide without going full-frame.

Sample gallery: Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG OS HSM Sport

We’ve been shooting a lot with Sigma’s redesigned 70-200mm F2.8 Sport lens and initial impressions are positive: it appears nice and sharp throughout the zoom range and proved quick to focus on the Canon 5DS R and EOS R. However at 1805g it’s certainly not a lightweight lens. Do the images make up for the awkward handling? Judge for yourself in our gallery of real-world samples.

Panasonic Lumix DC-G95/G90 pre-production sample gallery

We’ve spent some time shooting with a pre-production Panasonic Lumix DC-G95 (G90) in a variety of situations, and we’ve put together a gallery so you can evaluate its image quality.

We’ll have a gallery with a production-level camera online as soon as we get one, but in the meantime, take a look at our initial samples!
