Maxime Siegler is a DPR reader who caught our eye with his contributions to our black and white Readers’ Showcase. We wanted to share more of his work, and he was kind enough to answer a few questions for us about his photography. Find out how he stays inspired and why he’s so fond of monochromatic photography. Readers’ Choice Awards 2014: The Winners
After tens of thousands of votes over two rounds, the results are in. Late last year we asked you to vote for your favorite gear of 2014 in several categories, and last month we put the winners of those categories to an overall vote to find the best product of last year in your – our readers’ – opinion. The voting was extremely tight, but we’ve counted up the votes and we’re ready to announce the winners. Click through to see the results

2014 DPReview Readers’ Best Shots: People
Picking favorites is hard. Nevertheless, our readers were up to the task when we asked them to submit their best shots of 2014. We received over 1400 submissions, and it was no small job picking favorites. We didn’t need the reminder, but it underscored just how talented our readership is. Photos were divided into three categories and we settled on a small selection to feature in each.

If you’d like to take part next year and be informed when submissions open for the “Best Photos of 2015″ blog project add your name to my mail list. You won’t be spammed. I send out newsletters quite infrequently.
Thank to everyone who took part! I hope reviewing your best photos of the year and comparing them to years pasts keeps you inspired and aware of your progress as a photographer.

One of the ways dPS is able to cover its costs and be a sustainable business is that we earn a small commission when readers make a purchase from Amazon after clicking on our links (including those above). While no personal details are passed on we do get an overall report from Amazon about what was bought and are able to create this list.
