Defrozo online photography marketing platform launches on Kickstarter

A new platform called Defrozo has launched on Kickstarter. Currently in beta, it offers photographers online services needed to market and run a photography business, including an online store through which customers can purchase prints and a website to showcase one’s own work. Flasher smartphone flash launched on Kickstarter

As Triggertrap pulls plug on Ada kickstarter, CEO Haje Jan Kamps responds to comments from unhappy backers

Despite a successful round of funding through Kickstarter, Triggertrap has run into difficulties developing its Ada prototype and has announced that it will not be continuing with the project. As of November last year the company had raised nearly £300,000 in crowdfunding for its latest innovation, Ada – a high-speed shutter and flash trigger. Light and Motion launches Sidekick companion light for GoPro on Kickstarter

Light & Motion has introduced a new GoPro companion light called the Sidekick, and is seeking funding for its production on Kickstarter. The Sidekick is designed to attach directly to the GoPro’s existing mount, eliminating the need to carry an external light, though it retains some flexibility via an optional armature for positioning the light. Read more

Peak Design Kickstarter offers ‘hassle-free’ Slide and Clutch straps

San Francisco-based Peak Design will release a couple of new camera straps, the Slide and Clutch, in October following a successful funding campaign on Kickstarter. The Slide is a quick-connecting shoulder strap for cameras of any size, while the Clutch is a smaller hand strap designed for use regardless of whether the camera has a battery grip. Read more

LifePrint’s portable wireless printer hits Kickstarter

Robert Macauley wants to make photographs special again – by printing them. He’s one of the heads behind the LifePrint Kickstarter project that is aiming to build a portable wireless printer that is controlled via an iOS or Android app. The LifePrint team is looking to secure $ 200,000 of funding to build a printer that will be capable of printing a 3×4″ photo in approximately 30 seconds. Learn more
