The Canon RF 85mm F1.2L USM is one of the most impressive lenses released for the nascent RF system. Sharp at all apertures and capable of excellent rendering – especially for portraiture – it’s quickly becoming one of our favorite lenses for any system. We’ve taken the opportunity this summer to update our original sample gallery with new images, converted from Raw. Take a look.

We first got our hands on the Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG DN Art during its launch in Japan earlier this summer. We’ve since received a copy here in North America and have been shooting with it accordingly, on either coast. We’ve been shooting around with the new Tamron SP 35mm F1.4, a lens the brand recently referred to as its “finest ever,” and we can see why. Image quality appears to be excellent with good sharpness from corner to corner – even wide open – and well-controlled chromatic aberration and ghosting. Sunstars and bokeh are also pleasing, but we’ll leave that for you to decide.
This fast prime is also reasonably compact for a 35mm F1.4, even when coupled with the Nikon FTZ adapter and mounted on a Z7. AF speeds using said combo were also plenty fast/precise. Have a look for yourself.

The Panasonic G95 earned a DPReview Silver Award for its very good image quality and overall likeability. Good build quality and weather-resistance also lend it well to travel photography – something we did plenty of during our testing of the camera. Our full sample gallery demonstrates what the camera is capable of in a wide range of environments – indoors and outdoors, on land and at sea. Take a look.

Sony’s a6600 doesn’t exactly introduce any brand new technology, but its combination of winning features like in-body stabilization, a higher-capacity battery and seamless tracking autofocus make a compelling case to stills and video shooters alike. While we’re eager to test both of these aspects of the camera, for the moment we’ve been focused on still image capture. We took the new EOS M6 Mark II mirrorless camera to Atlanta, Georgia to put it through its paces at a Canon-sponsored launch event.
