A little something my old friend “messed around with” waaaay back in the dark ages, when creating 3D animation on a home computer was still a dream to most wannabe animators. A product of its time, and amazing work.

Music: Utada Hikaru – “Sanctuary”. No copyright infringement intended. Oh good lord I forgot I had this. This is something I made back when I was 16 (circa 2006). It’s a fan animation inspired by the official music video for Utada Hikaru’s single “Sanctuary” (aka the Kingdom Hearts 2 main theme). Character animation was done in Poser 6 (at the time) with Aiko3. The frames were then rendered out was PNGs and imported into flash. This animation was shown at my interview when I was applying to Yorkshire Coast College (it’s one of the main things that helped assure me a place there). I look back at it now and i’m all like “oh god THE CHEESE”, but I was really well chuffed with myself at the time.

Shane Rhabb’s 2008 3D Animation Demo Reel This demo was created from scratch in 8 weeks and was a solo project. I also incorporated work that I have done using the Unreal 3 game engine.

I made this in 3ds Max, using a dual camera rig I created based on one of www.louismarcoux.com great tutorials (visit his site, it’s worth it!). The two animations I rendered for what would be the left and right eye I then put together in Adobe After Effects with a technique I arrived at through trial and error (if you know a better way, I would love to hear about it – like the combustion one Louis Marcoux has on his site). The technique is very simple: In Adobe After Effects import both your movies and create a new composition. To the left eye render add a Color Balance fx, and set the Red value to 255 and the Green and Blue values to zero. Do the same to the right eye render, but set the Red to zero and the other two to 255 so you get a cyan tint. Now set the blending mode of both layers to “Screen”, this will lower significantly the contrast of your movie, so add an adjustment layer over both and to this one add Levels and Hue/Saturation fx and tweak as needed. I apologize in advance if the youtube compression screws too much with the video and you can’t see the anaglyph effect. I you don’t please be polite about it and let me know. If you have further questions on how I did this or anything else regarding anaglyphs or 3D I’ll try to answer them the best I can. Feel free to visit my website at www.oscarblanco.net for more anaglyphs and a lot of my other work in 3D, animation, photography and Illustration. There’s also free downloads there, like dock icons, wallpapers …
This is to announce the opening of a website called Miku Miku Dance Resource. sinlessrogue.angelfire.com (This is why I haven’t uploaded new videos. It’s taking up all my time to locate file vendors!) This site will be designed to make it easy for everyone to use MikuMikuDance, a 3D model rendering program. Please support this effort and visit the site, look it over and provide feedback by sending emails to sinlessrogue@mail.com. This email is located on the bottom of the main page. This website isn’t going to have information about mikumikudance or it’s files. There are plenty of websites with this information already. The only purpose of this website is to accumulate all files associated with MikuMikuDance with permission from the owners of the files. The Troy mission concept arises from a feasibility study, performed to confirm the capability of the SKYLON launch vehicles does enable large human exploration mission to the planets. The Troy mission is envisaged to be performed in two parts – an unmanned, precursor mission, and the later manned mission. Using SKYLON, the elements for the Troy ships are delivered to an Orbital Base Station, where the components are assembled. These components are designed to fit into the SKYLON payload bay, and have as much commonality as possible. The Precursor Ships comprise an Earth Departure Stage, a Mars Transfer Stage, three large Landing Modules, (one carrying rovers, one carrying power and propellant production plant, and one carrying an accommodation module), and a Ferry Vehicle for the journey to and from Mars orbit to the surface. Transit time to Mars would be 264 days, and on arrival, the three landing modules would be deployed to land at a pre-selected site, forming a base. Three Precursor Ships would be sent, forming three bases on Mars which would enable the rovers to reach more than 90% of the Martian surface. The Earth Departure stages of the Precursor Ships would not achieve escape velocity, and would return to the vicinity of the Orbital Base Station after a period of 50 days, where they could be recovered and re-used in the Manned Ships. These Manned Ships would also comprise a Mars Transfer Stages, an Earth Return Stage, crew accommodation modules, and capsules for …
