Lytro Camera Exclusive Hands-On Preview

25 Dec

Here at CES in Las Vegas, we were lucky enough to be awarded with a few hours of playtime with the Lytro camera at the Wynn Garden Lobby. For those of you unfamiliar with this peculiar weapon of the digital imaging persuasion, the Lytro camera’s specialty is that it can capture images without the need to focus. Instead, images can be focused after the shot is taken. This is a breakthrough in digital imaging technology, and certainly a format that competitors like Canon and Nikon will have to contend with when the Lytro ships in late February. tchno.be Get more CES coverage at youtube.com or revision3.com For more tech goodness, check us out at: www.technobuffalo.com Follow Us on Twitter www.twitter.com Like Us on Facebook: www.facebook.com Check Us Out on Google + tchno.be

Buy Mark’s Studio Lighting DVD: www.studiolightingessentials.com In this video Mark gives some tips on working with models. This video is focused on what to do before, during, and after the shoot. Mark also gives tips on where to find models. Don’t miss the bloopers at the end. It’s a dance off!

Well great concept but with glare on screen and no video recording for 499 sounds terrible besides these days unless if ur a pro photographer u can take a nice looking pic with iphone or andriod devices not a tiny screen with blurry photos

Very funny: People make a movie about a new focus camera, but their own film is without any focus.. muahahahahaha

499 for 16GB and no video recording? No thank you. I will settle with a Canon T2i dslr which costs the same and while it may not be as small and while it cant change depth of field on the go, it can take excellent 1080p video and can certainly take better looking photos

it could look like its moving slightly cause of the refraction of light in a hot night , as for the case of anything moving really fast who said it cannot be something made by the americans but kept under a bunker all day so that no one can see it, a black project. I think its much more likely that its that compared to an alien craft that had travelled millions of light years just to see ur face.

@simon19941 if its a planet its going to be moving so slow in a straight line it seems stationary in the sky. when do planets move like a aircraft ??? when something in the sky is performing maneuvers that no plane can achieve its not a plane.

Thing is, I would definitely buy one of these if I couldn’t buy a DSLR with a thousand more features and better quality and lenses for the same price. Knock it down a bit and I’ll buy away 🙂

depends.. if TOP model u should. but you can try place add or find a friend that want to become a model for her / his portfolio. well please mind there differences between models that experienced and not. however, this can be simple diminished by using the right communication approach. yes, this also apply to top models as well.

    December 25, 2012 at 3:38 pm

i agree to disagree.. IMHO it’s better to communicate between the model. i think Mark have vidoe on that issue.

Never show the model anything! and if you’re paying her, you don’t have to do any of this – she should know her job.

Hello, Mark, this is luke from Berlin. I was wondering what to look for in facial characteristics for models in order to take a great photoshoot or how to “see” how someone is photogenic or not. Thanks.

    Hi Mark,

Excellent work as usual 🙂 I tried reviewing comments before I posted this to make sure my question had not already been asked but to be honest I ran out of steam wading through it all. So I hope I am not repeating a question.

Can you tell us about hair and makeup..? Who is responsible for it when you are shooting model porfolios and when you hire a model for a shoot.?

    Thanks
    Bill

Good video. I agree that having a model sign a release depends on the situation. I do a lot of freelance work and I’ve published pics of photoshoots I’ve done, particularly with musicians. I’ve also published pics taken at events, for example models at fashion shows. All without a release.

I’ve also done personal portraits with non-professionals. But, those I wouldn’t sell or publish without a release.

So much depends on the situation.
