I find most people like to remove the half door uppers and all of the side top panels, but leave the tailored upper canopy on for the shade. My rack is mounted to the rol bar, independent of the soft top structure, for increased strength. You can remove the whole soft top, but you do need to remove the rack to do so. You can then fit the rack with no soft top though. J

Can you take off the soft top with the roof rack on? At about 50 seconds into the video, it looks like it’s bolted through the top?

I’m doing vlogs with a Nikon D5000 with a 35mm lens. As far as I know I can’t really change settings for video. And no autofocus. Any tips on getting sharper video without having to be at arms length from the camera to shutter focus?

If I use an SDXC card would I be able to record more video than the allotted 12 mins/4GB? I hope someone has an answer for me please. I have a show that my friend would like for me to record for him. It’s on New Year’s Eve at a local club. I know and understand about the sensor overheating, but I only need to record about 30 mins and then it will rest for about 15-20 intervals. I’d appreciate your guys’ help.

Should I get the T4i/650D, for it’s price it seems to be a pretty high quality camera for video?

    Hello
    I have two question:
Which canon lens is better for the video for my 600d (T3i):
1CLASSE ONE.The lens 17 55 or 24 105 mm, which is the first place to make music video, top quality?

2.CLASS TWEE Lens 18 200 mm or 18 135 which one it will be better for the video, the higher quality?

Of course, everything for it’s needs. If you’re going to shoot a lot, get the best you can afford. But this discussion is about cameras sub-1000 euro. To my knowledge, the 7d does not qualify to this category.

I hear the best total package (image & video) is the Canon 550D (EOS Rebel T2i). That’s what I have.

how do you focus during a video? Like I can focus it before, but then when I move my camera to something else its blurry. How can I focus during a video? Is there a setting, is there a button I need to press?

what do you recommend with wireless microphones? both handheld for video interviews and attached to the clothing microphones.

550d is very good. quite close to the more expensive 7d on vidoe.

    – Probably not. From what I’ve seen, if you’re looking for the BEST video out of a DSLR, the GH2 is it. Mind you, it’s not the best for photos.

What dSLR is the best for video in the pricerange of 1000 euro which is available BEFORE end of july 2011? Please help me, is there any competitor out there for the GH2?

    – for filming, the Nikon D700 works great, and we don’t know for sure when the Nikon D800 will be announced or even available.

Should i wait for the Nikon D800 or buy Nikon D7000, for filming mainly??

    Thanks for clarifying it.

    – No, the Nikon D90 doesn’t allow for full manual exposure control. The D90 was the first DSLR to have video, and it’s a little older now so it doesn’t have some of the newer abilities like the D7000 has.

In video your shutter is double of what your frame rate is.
