  • [MODIFIED] Digital Photography – Did Someone Get in the Way While Taking a Photo?

    Don’t immediately delete digital camera photos if an unwanted element or person got in your picture – here’s why.

    This tip is geared towards beginners. While reviewing vacation or other pictures, if you find images where an undesired subject moved barely into your digital camera’s viewfinder, don’t fret – these photos might not be a total loss!

    Most of today’s digital cameras take photos containing more than enough megapixels needed for high-quality printouts. Depending on the image subject and location of the unwanted element, you can crop (digitally cut) out what you don’t need and still have a great image. This is done by creating a selection rectangle inside your photo; everything outside of this rectangle gets removed….

    Nikon announced two cameras we’ve been waiting on. The D300s shoots 720p video, has an external mic jack, and does autofocus during video shooting, which the Canon 5D Mark II doesn’t do. The D3000 is an entry level DSLR with a guide mode and stitching software. It doesn’t shoot video. The LG BL40 Chocolate is a high definition wide touchscreen smartphone. The display is 800×345 and will be available later this year. Apple released a 2TB Time Capsule at 9. The 1TB is still available at 9. At 36MP, the D800 is the highest resolution camera you can buy without making the step up to medium format, it’s also one of the first DSLRs to offer uncompressed video output. Despite these drastic increases in capability over the D700, Nikon’s latest full-frame offering will be immediately familiar to any one who’s shot with one of the company’s high-end cameras. So what’s the D800 like to shoot with and does all that resolution render its competition redundant?

    This week your challenge is to take and share an image or two on the theme of BLUE!

    It’s been over two years since we went blue in a challenge and last time was very popular. Like last time I’m sure we’ll see lots of blue skies, eyes and other blue things. Let your imagination run wild!

    Once you’ve selected the ‘Blue’ image that you’d like to share – upload it to your favourite photo sharing site or blog and either share a link to it or – embed them in the comments using the our new tool to do so.

    If you tag your photos on Flickr, Instagram, Twitter or other sites with Tagging tag them as #DPSBLUE to help others find them. Linking back to this page might also help others know what you’re doing so that they can share in the fun.
