    This is a new blend of photos of flower arrangements. The detail of the petals and leaves in the larger size is quite pleasing. It has such a natural, healing feel and also is reminiscent of a meditation medallion, or a mandala, that I named it floral auras.

    A banner in Chinatown Adelaide, advertising the Garden of Unearthly Delights, which is the largest entertainment precinct within the Adelaide Fringe, located in the East Parklands. It contains various tented venues with fancy names such as:

    The Adelaide Fringe Festival occurs annually and is the largest arts event in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere. It is the second-largest fringe festival in the world after the Edinburgh Fringe. For 24 days and nights in February and March, the city vibrates to hundreds of cabaret, comedy, dance, theatre, music, and visual arts events.

  • Fotopuzzle

    Es gibt Momente, in denen passt einfach alles in der Landschaftsfotografie. Ich scheine am richtigen Ort zur richtigen Zeit zu sein. Das Licht der morgentlichen Dämmerung fängt langsam an, den Himmel zu färben. Ich blicke hinab auf eine wunderschöne Landschaft, die ich noch kaum erkennen kann. In der Ferne bildet sich etwas Nebel.

    Ich baue in Ruhe mein Stativ auf, richte die Kamera aus und mache ein paar Testfotos bei hohem ISO-Wert, um die Komposition festzulegen und die Belichtungszeit zu bestimmen. Für Live-View ist es noch zu dunkel. Es dauert ein paar Minuten, bis ich zufrieden bin. Verlaufsfilter müssen gewechselt werden, bis das Histogramm eine ausgeglichene Belichtung zeigt.

    Dann nehme ich den ISO-Wert zurück auf 100 und rechne kurz: Zwölf Minuten müsste ich nun belichten, um den kleineren ISO-Wert zu kompensieren. Jedoch hat schon die bürgerliche Dämmerung begonnen und damit wird es zunehmend heller. Mit der Zeit habe ich ein Gefühl dafür bekommen, wie ich das ausgleichen kann. Ich drücke den Knopf meines Kabelauslösers. In den folgenden sechs Minuten versuche ich, das Licht der Dämmerung auf den Sensor zu bannen. Die Wolken ziehen sanfte Schleier über den Himmel.

    Trotz halbierter Belichtungszeit sind Teile des Himmels überbelichtet. Eine zweite, kürzere Belichtung muss her: 30 Sekunden sollten reichen. Beide Fotos werde ich später überblenden.

    Als die Fotos im Kasten sind, hätte ich aufhören und nach einer anderen Perspektive suchen können. Doch ich lasse meinen Kamera-Aufbau unberührt. So lange vor Sonnenaufgang bleibt die Landschaft noch in dunkle Schatten gehüllt. Am Tag zuvor hatte ich die warmen Herbstfarben gesehen. Diese sollen auch aufs Foto.

    Etwas später sind die ersten Autos unten auf den Straßen unterwegs. Ein weiteres Puzzleteil, dass ich gerne auf meinem Foto haben möchte: Lichtspuren.

    Dann endlich wird das Licht warm und hell genug, um die herbstliche Farbenpracht zu offenbaren. Ich mache weitere Fotos bei unterschiedlichen Belichtungszeiten.

    45 Minuten sind schon vorbei. In fast 30 Fotos habe ich die Dämmerung dokumentiert. Ich habe ein Bild im Kopf, aber es fehlt noch etwas. Langsam werde ich unruhig, vielleicht sollte ich bei diesem Licht doch noch ein paar andere Blickwinkel fotografieren.

    Doch endlich taucht rechts das erste Schiff auf. Nur noch etwa fünf Minuten, bis es genau da ist, wo ich es haben möchte. Ich wechsle auf ISO 1250, Blende f/5.6 und mache einen Testschuss. 1/30 Sekunde reicht, um den Frachter scharf abzubilden. Dann warte ich, bis ich endlich das letzte Puzzleteil fotografieren kann.

    Als Landschaftsfotograf muss man Geduld mitbringen. Warten auf das richtige Licht, warten auf die richtige Anordnung der Wolken, auf das Abflauen des Windes, um Blätter und Gräser scharf abbilden zu können oder auch mal auf ein Schiff. Manchmal warte ich vergeblich.

    Doch nicht dieses mal. Am Ende passt alles zusammen. Das Puzzle ist vollständig.
