Bing Search Engine – Return More Desirable Search Results by Adding Ignore Words

Tired of web pages containing particular words or phrases appearing in a Bing search? Create search queries that ignore them.

When performing searches with Bing involving words or phrases that have multiple meanings, you might wish to prevent the results from including certain types of pages. Perhaps a word or phrase has a popular meaning but you want pages related to the alternate one.

Another example is searching for a word or phrase that matches the name of a TV show, sports team, movie, etc. These popular culture references may result in pages in which you have no interest. For example, searching for “bones” may show results relating to the TV show, restaurants, a movie, or other non-anatomical subjects….

When selecting text in a Word 2010 document, prevent the application from forcing you to select entire words.

If you use the mouse to select text in a Microsoft Word 2010 document, you may notice that after you select one word, preceding or following words are selected automatically as you move the mouse – you cannot select individual letter of the words.

News story about the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens in Washington State, including original footage shot by Dave Crockett on the mountain, as he tries to escape from the eruption in progress. I remember being shown the original footage in grade school, in the mid-eighties in Portland, OR, not far from St. Helens. The version I remember was unedited, with fire in the sky. He started out filming from his car, but was hit by a small mudslide and continued on foot. I remember him running in the dark, panting in the ash, and saying over and over “This is hell on earth, this is hell on earth.” He made it out safely.
