Canon PowerShot G7 X First Impressions updated

From the outside, Canon’s PowerShot G7 X enthusiast compact looks like the S-series models that came before it, but inside it’s an entirely different story. The G7 X offers a 20MP 1″-type BSI CMOS sensor, a 24-100mm equiv. F1.8-2.8 lens and built-in Wi-Fi with NFC. Fujifilm X100T overview updated

We’ve just updated our Fujifilm X100T overview with a detailed analysis of the camera’s controls and operation. With access to a beta X100T, we’ve taken it for a spin and assembled a real-world samples gallery. In the process we’ve got to know the camera a bit better and have addressed questions about the viewfinder, e-shutter and Auto ISO behavior. Read more

Updated Leica X (Typ 113) APS-C compact boasts F1.7 lens

Leica has announced a new X-series camera with an F1.7 lens. The Leica X (Typ 113) continues to use a 16MP APS-C sensor and offer a 35mm equivalent lens but now with a considerably faster aperture than the F2.8 of its forebear. The existing X2 model will essentially live on as the Leica X-E. The Typ 113 will cost around $ 2,295/£1,550.

Fujifilm X100T announced with updated hybrid viewfinder

Fujifilm has announced the X100T, the latest evolution of its popular X-series of enthusiast compacts. Introduced with this model is an updated Hybrid Viewfinder that includes a new electronic rangefinder feature and automatic brightness controls. The X100T carries over the 16MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor seen in its predecessor as well as a fixed 23mm (35mm equiv) F2 lens. Read more

Samsung NX Mini real-world gallery updated with 17mm F1.8 samples

You’d know just by looking at it that the Samsung NX Mini is the slimmest and lightest interchangeable lens camera on the market. Tucked inside is a 1″-type, 20MP CMOS sensor along with Wi-Fi with NFC and 1080/30p video. The aptly named Mini also introduces a new NX-M lens mount. We’ve updated our existing NX Mini samples gallery with images from the 17mm F1.8 prime. See gallery

Updated: Nikon releases Capture NX-D 1.0.0 software

16 Jul

Nikon has released version 1.0.0 of Capture NX-D, introduced in beta form earlier this year. Capture NX-D is the first version of Nikon’s flagship Raw converter since previous developer Nik Software was bought by Google in 2012. The software features a new user interface, batch conversion and a non-destructive workflow that saves adjustments in sidecar files alongside the original image. Read more

Leica T Typ 701 real-world samples gallery updated

We’ve updated our already healthy-sized gallery of real-world Leica T samples, bringing the grand total up to 97 images. The T (Typ 701) is a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera with autofocus, the first in the T-system. UPDATED: Sony Cybershot DSC-RX100 M3 sample images

As soon as it arrived we wasted no time getting out with the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 III, and in the past few days we’ve also added a lot to our first-impressions review, including a movie page, shooting experience and studio comparison images. This weekend presented an opportunity to update our gallery of real-world sample images too, bringing our gallery to 87 images, including a handful of raw conversions. See more.
