The Sony Xperia Z3 is the successor to the Xperia Z2, and in terms of both camera specification and design it’s more of an evolutionary update than a major overhaul. In terms of camera specs the new model comes with the same 20.7 MP resolution on a 1/2.3 sensor as its predecessor but the new G-lens offers a wider equivalent focal length of 25mm. CP+ 2015: Sony shows off new technology
We swung by the Sony booth at CP+ 2015 in Yokohama, Japan, where they had displays of the latest technologies in their cameras and lenses, as well as an elaborate diorama of a bird in flight over a fabricated landscape, amongst other things. DxO OpticsPro 10.2 adds support for Sony A7 II and Panasonic LX100
DxO OpticsPro 10.2 is now available, joined by DxO ViewPoint 2.5.2 and DxO FilmPack 5.1. With this trio of updates, photographers will find new support for four more camera models: the Lumix DMC-LX100, Pentax K-S1, Sony A7 II, and the Samsung Galaxy S5. Real-world samples: Sony Alpha 7 II in Kauai
Our initial samples gallery from the Sony a7 II saw the camera tested in a variety of real-world conditions, and now we’ve followed it up with even more samples from the mirrorless full-frame camera. Better yet, we tested it out in what is arguably one of the most photogenic places on Earth. Sony issues firmware 1.10 for Alpha 7 II
Announced in late November, the Sony Alpha 7 II has received its first firmware update. Somewhat thin on specifics, firmware version 1.10 promises improved image stabilization. The firmware details cite improvements in IS when half-pressing the shutter, in ‘Focus Magnifier’ mode, during movie recording, and with ‘other functions’. Read more

Beta Alphas: Sony shows mockups of upcoming FE lenses for Alpha 7 system
Sony is showing mockups of four new lenses for its full frame FE series for the Alpha 7 on its stand at CES, as well as two wide angle converters. With only six FE lenses to choose from at the moment, Alpha 7 users will be pleased to see some physical evidence of these lenses that Sony initially announced on a roadmap at the Photokina show in September.
