According to a report from BusinessWeekly Taiwan, Apple’s rumored dual camera technology for an upcoming iPhone is getting closer to becoming a reality. The article states that Apple has been working on the dual-lens technology for three years, but until recently has been hindered by a number of issues, including image blur and supplier inadequacies. Rumored Olympus OM-D E-M5 successor may offer resolution-boosting ‘sensor shift’

Rumors are circulating about a possible successor to the Olympus OM-D E-M5. According to rumor site 4/3rumors.com, the camera is likely to be called the Olympus E-M5II or the Olympus E-M5 Mark II and is said to feature a 16MP sensor but with a sensor shift function allowing users to boost resolution up to an equivalent 40MP. Olympus OM-D E-M5 rumored to be out of production

Rumors have surfaced that the Olympus E-M5 has reached the end of its production. According to 4/3rumors, retailers in US and Europe have received notice from Olympus that it has stopped production of the camera. Olympus hasn’t made an official announcement yet. Read more

Nikon issues statement on rumored D600 / D610 swap-outs

Reports have been surfacing that Nikon is issuing new D610 cameras to customers who send in their D600s for service. It’s hard to substantiate, but Nikon Rumors has been collating reports from Europe and the US which seem to show that some customers who send their D600s in for service related to the now notorious dust accumulation issue have been receiving brand new D610s in exchange. Read Nikon’s statement on the matter

Rumored Sony Xperia ‘Sirius’ reported to shoot 4K video

Information has leaked about the Android 4.4.2. KitKat OS to be included in Sony’s next flagship Xperia handset that points to 4K video capability. Codenamed ‘Sirius,’ the high-end device will reportedly carry many of the same camera features that the current flagship Sony Z1 offers like manual exposure control, and along with 4K video is expected to add some new features like ‘timeshift video,’ a high frame rate movie mode with the option to apply slow motion effects.
