Datacolor offers Spyder5 with redesigned calibrator
Color management company Datacolor has announced a new version of its Spyder monitor calibrating tool that it claims offers up to 55% improvement in tonal response, leading to ‘more accurate shadow detail and smoother gradients.’ The body of the new Spyder5 calibrator has been redesigned, somewhat losing the spider legs that got the series it name. Instagram releases redesigned Android app
The Facebook-owned mobile imaging platform Instagram has launched a revamped version of its Android app. There aren’t any new filters, frames or editing options though. The most obvious changes have been made to the design of the user interface. It has adopted the ‘flattened’ look of the latest Android versions and some OEM software. Learn more

SmugMug launches totally redesigned website
Photo sharing site SmugMug has rolled out a totally redesigned website, which was ‘rebuilt from the ground up’. The look-and-feel of the site is radically different, and somewhat resembles the recently redesigned Flickr. Some of the new features on SmugMug include a large selection of default templates for the consumer, plus the ability for pros to create their own custom designs. Sigma announces 60mm F2.8 for mirrorless and redesigned 30mm F1.4 DC
CP+ 2013: Sigma has announed four additions to its ‘Art’ range of prime lenses, including a 60mm F2.8 DN lens for mirrorless cameras and an updated 30mm F1.4 DC for APS-C DSLRs. Alongside these are redesigned versions of its 30mm and 19mm F2.8 DN lenses for mirrorless in metal bodies. Like these lenses, the 60mm F2.8 DN features metal casing and will be available for the Sony E and Micro Four Thirds mounts. It will offer a 90mm equivalent field of view on Sony NEX cameras or 120mm equivalent coverage of Micro Four Thirds bodies. The Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC is a completely redesigned version of the popular normal lens for APS-C DSLRs – it will be available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts. Price and availability details have not been given.
