Sigma announces pricing for 24mm Art and 150-600mm Comtemporary lenses

Sigma has attached prices to its very recently announced 24mm F1.4 Art lens, as well as the 150-600mm F5-6.3 super telephoto that appeared at Photokina. The full frame 24mm lens, which supports Canon, Nikon, and Sigma mounts, will be available next month at a price of $ 849. The 150-600mm – also designed for full frame bodies – will be priced at $ 1089 and will ship next month for Canon and Nikon mounts. Read more

Phase One and Alpa release official details and pricing of A-Series medium format cameras

Phase One has announced official details of its new A-Series medium format cameras after information about the new pairing of the company’s digital backs with an Alpa body and lenses was leaked in November. As was reported at the time, the series will comprise Phase One 50MP, 60MP and 80MP backs, combined with the Alpa 12 TC body and a choice of three lenses – the Alpagon 5.6/23mm, Alpar 4.0/35mm and the Alpagon 5.6/70mm. Read more

Sony announces US pricing for full-frame Alpha 7 II

Sony Electronics has announced US pricing and availability for its recently announced Alpha 7 II camera. The a7 II is the world’s first full-frame camera with in-body image stabilization (5-axis, no less), and also offers improved controls, focusing performance, and video specs. It will be available on December 9th for $ 1700 body only and $ 2000 with the 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 FE lens. We’ll be getting our hands on a beta version shortly and will post samples as soon as possible. Read more

Panono announces pricing and availability for rolling ball camera

German startup Panono has announced availability and pricing for its ball-shaped Panono Camera. The device shoots spherical panorama images and will cost $ 549/€549 when it ships worldwide in the spring of 2015. The first to receive the camera will be the backers of the crowd-funding project the company used to get started before the camera goes on general release. Learn more

Metz Mecablitz 64 AF-1 flagship flash unit gets US announcement and pricing

Previously introduced on its European website, Metz has announced its new flagship model the Mecablitz 64 AF-1 in the US market. It’s the most powerful flash in that manufacturer’s lineup with a guide number of 64 at ISO 100 and a zoom range covering 24-200mm focal lengths, and will be available for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic and Pentax cameras. Read more

Sigma announces US pricing and availability of dp2 Quattro

Sigma has announced US pricing and availability for its latest camera the dp2 Quattro. Featuring a newly-developed ~19.6 million pixel APS-C Foveon sensor and a completely new body design, the dp2 Quattro has a 30mm F2.8 lens (45mm equivalent) and will be available in the USA in early August at a street price of $ 999. Sigma UK gives pricing and availability for dp2 Quattro + Specs

Sigma UK has revealed pricing and availability for its dp2 Quattro, along with much more information about the camera than we got when it was announced in February. The latest, 45mm-equivalent, model features dramatic styling and a fundamental re-think of the company’s Foveon multi-layer sensor design. It will be available in early July with a suggested retail price of £899.99 including VAT. In the USA availability is estimated as early August and the street price will be $ 999. Learn more

Sony announces pricing and availability for Alpha 7S

Sony has announced pricing and availability information for its Alpha 7S 12MP mirrorless camera. The Alpha 7S is the first full-frame camera able to read out its entire sensor fast enough to output 4K 30p footage without the need for line skipping or pixel binning. It’s also not constrained by the AVCHD standard with bitrates of up to 50Mbps. The body will be available in July and sell for $ 2,499.99. Learn more

Nikon announces J4 US pricing and waterproof accessory availability

Nikon has announced US pricing and availability of its J4 1-System mirrorless camera. Originally launched last month, the J4 features an 18MP CX-format sensor with an improved Hybrid AF system. The company has also announced a new WP-N3 waterproof case and SB-N10 waterproof Speedlight. The underwater housing allows the Nikon 1 J4 and S2 cameras to be taken to depths of of 45m (148 ft). The new Speedlight is waterproof up to 100m (328 ft). Learn more
