Photography Tutorial Nikon D3000 D3100

I shot the entire day using the Nikon D3000 and various pieces of Nikon glass. The video was captured with the Nikon D3S and Nikon 16mm Fisheye. I got to spend the day with Philadelphia based rock band Automatic Fire and capture behind the scenes images. Sit back and watch what happens back stage while I am capturing images. You will get to follow the journey from the dressing room to the stage for sound check and finally the show. Mixed in the entire video you will see the images that were captured at that particular time along with all technical information. Nikon SB-900: The Basics

This video demonstrates the basic hands-on demonstration on Nikon’s new professional-grade speedlight of SB-900. Note, there’s a typo while flash head panning demonstration, it starts from 0º, 45º, 90º, then 180º both ways around. If you are not so sure about SB-900’s “Light Pattern” – SB-900 can throw light in different directions: Above, Even, and Below. Below is useful when you are using the flash on a flash bracket. The DX and FX feature in the SB-900 allows you to use iTTL, iTTL-BL, iTTL-FP, or iTTL-BL-FP more accurately on FX and DX camera bodies. It will automatically switch to DX if you enter the DX Crop Mode on D3 / D3X / D700. SB-900 will automatically get the signal from the camera body and it will switch to either DX or FX. You can manually override that feature if you wish. Enjoy. Nikon D300 Firmware Update

A “not great” Nikon D300 firmware update video. Nikon has a really complicated page on how to update firmware, so I thought this might be useful as a much simpler version. Here’s a link to Nikon’s own tutorial: www.nikon-euro.com and D300 firmware can be downloaded from: nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com But it’s really so much simpler: 1) Download firmware. 2) Double click on it to extract the self extracting zip file. 3) Navigate to “D300Update” folder. 4) Make sure battery is fully charged. 5) Format CF card (not sure that’s even necessary). 6) Set camera’s USB setting (Menu — Setup Menu — USB) to “Mass Storage”. 7) Connect to PC via USB cable. 8) First copy A firmware (ie “A3000110.bin”) to root of your D300s CF card. 9) Apply the update (Menu — Setup Menu — Firmware Version — Update) and shutdown camera when done. 10) Connect to PC again, delete A firmware and repeat steps 8 & 9 for B. 11) Format the CF card and you’re all done.
