What makes a GoPro go? That’s the sort of question that the curious folks over at iFixit.com love to answer. To find out, they’ve torn apart the Wi-Fi-enabled, 4K-capable GoPro Hero3 to reveal its inner workings and release its secrets. In the course of their tear-down they found that the Hero3 is impressively repairable, thanks to its minimal use of adhesives to hold everything together. For all the gory details, images and a link to the full tear-down, click through to our article on connect.dpreview.com.

SKILL Concept – Project 24 Gymkhana 3.0 (GoPro HD Hero2@120fps)

27 Nov

In this video I went back to my favorite Gymkhana style. The slide from project 11 is back. All captured on my GoPro HD Hero2 camera at 120fps. Check out their website at www.gopro.com I highly recommend this camera to anyone. For best results watch it at 480 resolution. Higher frame rate gave me opportunity for some awesome slow motion. I really love this camera. My favorite setting is 720p at 60fps. Thank you all for watching. Don’t hesitate to send me a message if you wish to talk. Connect: Photographer puts GoPro in bride’s bouquet for unique wedding video

09 Nov

The tiny GoPro camera can make some spectacular videos. From Red Bull’s record breaking skydive to a cat’s perspective on chasing a laser pointer, there is serious potential for the $ 200-$ 400 video camera. The GoPro is built to survive extreme photographic situations, but it can also work well for more conventional video needs. When San Diego-based photographer Ben Horne got married earlier this year, he put a GoPro HD Hero2 in his bride’s bouquet to create a unique camera angle. 17 Oct

GoPro, the action camera maker, has refreshed its entire range, including the addition of the 4k-capable Hero 3 Black Edition. The existing Hero HD and Hero 2 models have essentially been re-housed in smaller cases with updated user interfaces and will sit alongside the Black Edition as the White and Silver Editions, respectively. The Hero 3 Balck Edition can shoot at up to 3840×2160 pixels at 15 frames per second. It also has 2.7k mode (2716 horizontal pixels) at 30 or 24fps and a Protune mode that offers higher bit-rates and a neutral color profile better suited to post-processing.

GoPro Hero Camera and Thunderbolt Kayak

16 Oct

WSBS Thunderbolt kayak

September 18, 2012. Another evening with WSBS Thunderbolt-X kayak on the Beaver Pond in Arapaho Bend Natural Area near Fort Collins.

Thunderbolt provides for me the fastest way to go for a paddling workout – just a few seconds to load a kayak into V-racks on my car. And, in a small pond, I don’t even need to mess up with a sprayskirt.

I was playing with the GoPro Hero camera mounted on a kayak bow and set up in the interval shooting mode. This time I was using my two suction cup mount based on Sticky Pod.
