Fujifilm XF10 sample gallery update

As we found in our full review, the Fujifilm XF10 is a little on the slow side and we were surprised by autofocus accuracy issues. But when it all comes together, this pocket compact is certainly capable of some really beautiful images. With a 24MP sensor, sharp lens and absolutely excellent JPEG color, the XF10 will reward you with some fantastic photographs if you’ve remembered to pack your patience.

We’ve done a lot of shooting with our XF10 copy and updated our sample gallery to give you a look at what it can do.

Sony FE 135mm F1.8 GM sample gallery

Sony’s announced the ninth addition to the G Master lens series in the FE 135mm F1.8 GM. This fast telephoto is well versed for a variety of disciplines, from portraiture to low light sports photography. Prior to launch, we had the chance to take it for a spin at both a Sony shooting event, as well as on our own. Our initial takeaway is the lens is very sharp with high contrast even wide-open, fast-to-focus and capable of pleasing bokeh. Longitudinal chromatic aberration, which shows up purple and green fringing in front of and behind the focus plane, respectively, is largely absent.

That’s some serious optical performance combined with autofocus speeds we’ve never seen from such a fast telephoto prime, which is what allowed us to shoot fast action with a high focus hit-rate. That’s in thanks to not just the four new ‘XD’ (extreme dynamic) linear induction motors driving two separate focus groups, but also the new ‘Real-time tracking’ mode on the new a9 with the new 5.0 firmware. Panasonic S1R sample gallery updated with Raw conversions

We’ve had a little more time to shoot around with Panasonic’s high-resolution full-framer and thus, top off our sample gallery. We’ve also had the chance to add a whole lot of Raw conversions, which should give a better idea of image quality compared to the out-of-camera JPEGs. So have a peek and let us know what you think.

Ricoh GR III sample gallery

The Ricoh GR III made its official debut today, and DPR contributor Damien Demolder got his hands on the camera for a quick photo walk through London. Take a look at the JPEG output from the GR III as well as a few converted DNGs.

Fujifilm X-T30 pre-production sample gallery

Given that it uses the same sensor and processor as the X-T3, it’s no surprise that the Fujifilm X-T30 is capable of producing some excellent photos. We took a pre-production X-T30 all over the Seattle area and have plenty of photos for your viewing pleasure.

Canon EOS RP sample gallery

These images were shot at a pre-launch event organized by Canon in New Orleans. The cameras were full production units running firmware v1.0. There are also some images converted using Canon’s Digital Photo Professional software, which was provided to us.

Fujifilm XF 16mm F2.8 sample gallery

Fujifilm’s XF 16mm F2.8 compact prime is one of the widest lens of its type in the company’s lineup (tied with the existing 16mm F1.4 WR). It comes with a 24mm-equivalent field of view, an aperture ring, weather sealing and impressively fast autofocus. But most importantly, how are the optics? Take a look through our sample gallery (shot with a pre-production sample) to get a glimpse of just how well this lens performs against the backdrop of a snowy Seattle winter.

Panasonic Lumix S1R pre-production sample gallery
