DJI Mavic Air 2 sample gallery

The Mavic Air 2 is a great all-around drone for almost anybody, but how are its photos? We shot Raw and JPEG images at both 12MP and 48MP, as well as ‘SmartPhotos’ that promise improved image quality. Compare the results in our sample gallery.

Fujifilm 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 sample gallery

The XF 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS was the original telephoto zoom for Fujifilm’s X-mount system. Like many people, we’re looking for fun photo projects to do on our own, so one of our editors decided to shoot a sample gallery to see how this lens holds up seven years later.

Canon RF 85mm F1.2L USM DS sample gallery

The ‘Defocus Smoothing’ or DS variant of Canon’s RF 85mm F1.2L uses a special coating to two of the lens’ 13 elements to give out-of-focus highlights a smoother appearance. And like its non-DS counterpart, it’s an outstanding portrait lens. We took advantage of a little time outdoors and some springtime scenery to put together a collection of preliminary samples – take a look.

What better time to shoot with a telephoto zoom? Chris and Jordan took the Tamron 70-180mm F2.8 and a Sony a7R III into the empty streets of Calgary for some appropriately-distanced street shooting – with a few family portraits to round things out. Sample gallery: Fujifilm Acros 100 II – 35mm and 120 scans

Between the DPReview TV crew up in Canada and the rest of the staff here in the USA, we were able to get our hands on several 35mm and 120 rolls of the newly-formulated Fujifilm Neopan Acros 100 II film stock, set to hit shelves in North America toward the end of the month.

35mm images were shot by Chris Niccolls and Jordan Drake on a trusty Nikon FE – 120 images were captured by Dan Bracaglia with his time-tested Mamiya 645 J. Due to photo lab closures related to the current health crisis, all samples were home-processed and digitized; 35mm photos were converted using Nikon’s ES-2 adapter and 120 images were captured using an Epson V550 flatbed scanner.

The Fujifilm X100V is a camera designed to tag along on adventures large and small. We brought it along on plenty of excursions during the course of testing – back when we were able to do that sort of thing – from trips to the coast to walks around the block. Take a look at all of the shooting we were able to do with this award-worthy camera, from a time before quarantine.

The Fujifilm X-A7 is a fun-to-use, touchscreen-centric camera that covers the basics for a beginner while leaving room to grow. Perhaps best of all, it offers the Fujifilm color rendering that we know and love in a lightweight, barely-there package. Take a look at what it’s capable of as a daily companion in our sample gallery – which includes, we should note, images taken before social distancing was a way of life in the US.

Panasonic Lumix G 25mm F1.7 sample gallery

Panasonic’s 25mm F1.7 is not a new lens but it does offer good optical performance for the money – it’s also a lens that never received our sample gallery treatment, until now. Think of it as the brand’s nifty fifty – because at about $ 150 this 50mm equiv. would be an excellent addition to any Micro Four Thirds kit.

It’s also worth mentioning that much of this gallery was shot with Seattle in COVID-19 lockdown, so we had to get a little creative with subject matter!
