127 Film Photography

03 Dec

127 Film Format – “The format was introduced by Kodak in 1912, along with the “Vest Pocket Kodak” folding camera, as a compact alternative to larger portable cameras using 120. The folding “127s” were in fact smaller than most 35 mm cameras today. The 127 format made a comeback during the 1950s as the format of choice for small inexpensive cameras such as the Brownie and Satellite, and continued in wide use until surpassed by the 126 film and 110 film “Instamatic” cartridges” en.wikipedia.org Video produced by Michael Raso / Film Photography Podcast Internet Radio Show Listen to this show: Film Photography Podcast Episode 24 / December 15, 2010 filmphotographypodcast.com Launched in October of 2009, the Film Photography Podcast is a 90 minute, bi-weekly Internet radio program, exploring a wide range of topics relevant to the experienced and aspiring photographer using film as a medium. DJ Zo and Dumbfoundead – Love Psycle Typography Film

27 Nov

I’m sure all you guys have seen this film already. I forgot to post it on my own channel, so here it is! Many thanks to Dumbfoundead for reaching out and choosing me for this project. Thanks for all the love you guys have shown! It really means a lot. To be honest, I never expected it. It’s crazy! Thank you so much. I will definitely do my best to get good content up now that I know people are actually watching. Lol. To answer a couple of questions I’ve been getting from the first video: 1. Yes, there will be more films on my channel. 2. No, they all won’t be typography films. I am a photographer first and a graphic designer second. There will be photography-related (tutorials, reviews, short films, etc.) content on this channel as well. 3. I work alone, so I hope you guys don’t get too pissed that I don’t post weekly. But I’ll do my best to post more stuff for you guys. 4. The typography films were done in After Effects. 5. I got quite a few emails and messages asking about advice about After Effects. PLEASE don’t hesitate to email me and ask questions. I don’t check YouTube comments very often. So the best way to reach me about process questions is through email! You can send a YouTube message as well. I’m all for sharing creativity, hoping to get others to think creatively. Other than that, here are my websites if you guys want to get to know me a little better: Facebook Fanpage: facebook.com Art Website: kevincaoart.com Photography Website kevincaophotography.com Blog

Using a super clamp to mount your Zoom H4n on your boom pole – DSLR FILM NOOB

18 Nov

www.dslrfilmnoob.com Super Clamps are handy little devices. You don’t have to use them with a manfrotto magic arm for them to come in handy. One Great use for them is mounting your zoom h4n. Using the stud that comes with your super clamp you can mount a threaded cold show adapter rcm.amazon.com or threading it into the super clamp stud: rcm.amazon.com Either way provide you with a great way to mount your zoom h4n to your boom pole. The zoom h4n is light enough that you wont be over taxed by the extra weight, and with the multiple mounting options on a super clamp you could always mount a wireless transmitter/receiver to send audio out or bring it in from other sources. When i have to operate the boom mic from long distances I often attach a wireless transmitter to send my audio back to the camera. That way my 7d has a good solid sync track for dualeyes to work with. Equipment used in this video: Canon t2i canon 35mm f1.4 Zoom h4n Cowboy super clamp and manfrotto super clamp Sennheiser g2 wireless transmitter

t3i short film – My Friend Socrates

11 Nov

Check out our new short!! www.youtube.com I had to make a video for class so I put this together rather quickly. It gave us a reason to test out camera equipment as well. You may notice the video drops frames and the sound cuts out. This is due to using FINAL CUT X. We wanted to upload it before we lost anymore information. *We used an old 1.8 Nikkor 50mm lens with an adapter *For sound we used both the T3i mic and the H4N audio recorder Please gives us your thoughts, Thanks! We do not own the rights to these songs. The songs are “Main Titles”, “Loneliness”, “New Courage” composed by James Horner.
