Nikon D800 ????? Official D-Movies Through The Lens

02 Dec

Multi-Area Mode Full HD D-Movie — Recording Movies Using One Of Two Formats The D800 records movies with superior resolution through optimal information processing acquired from the 36.3-million pixel image sensor. Users can record 1920 × 1080p/30-fps full-HD movies using either the FX-based movie format or the DX-based movie format according to shooting conditions. The FX-based movie format offers a shallow depth-of-field with an emphasis on blur characteristics, while the DX-based movie format brings subjects closer when lenses with short focal lengths are used. The camera is also equipped with a headphone jack and supports precise adjustment of microphone sensitivity. In addition, users can play back movies or view the live recording of movies simultaneously via the camera’s monitor and on an external monitor. The D800 also responds to the needs of professionals who require uncompressed movie files; professional users can link the movie live view mode to an external HDMI monitor, as well as record movies simultaneously onto an external device via the HDMI link. Nikon’s newest digital SLR camera also features a time-lapse photography function that captures images at a selected interval and then combines the images to create a time-lapse movie. A time-lapse movie shows the changes in a particular scene that occur over time. I AM THE DIRECTOR iam.nikon-asia.com Cinematography by Andrzej Sekula Directed by Cellin Gluck

NIKON D800 vs OLYMPUS OM-D E-M5 – SHOOTOUT VIDEO

28 Nov

Olympus’s new flagship Micro four thirds camera the OM-D E-M5 Versus Nikon’s Shiny new D800 Full frame shoooter. (& yes, dedicated reviews of both cameras are coming soon 😉 ) Olympus OM-D E-M5 with the fantastic M.Zuiko Digital ED 45mm F1.8 The Nikon D800 with the much lusted after Nikkor 85mm f/1.4G… It’s as close as makes no real difference an equivalent (effective) focal length FOV on each camera. (the D800 is full frame, and the E-M5 has a 2x crop factor, giving the 45mm lens an 35mm equivalent focal length of 90mm) Both set to record 1080@30P, using the Standard picture profiles on each, ISO set to 200, shutter & aperture set to full manual mode, and Focus S-AF. And cameras were recording each scene simultaneously, mounted to the same monopod (using a hot-shoe extension bar & appropriate adapters) This May not be a fair fight in stills mode, given the VAST difference in megapixel resolution… 16MP vs 36MP… But in VIDEO mode, where the play-ground is levelled as much as posisble, and with both cameras independently impressing video shooters in early testing & reviews… Well, it proved to be a very interesting head-to-head shootout indeed… What do you think? …

Boy on Swing – Nikon D800 24FPS “Film Look”

19 Oct

google+ plus.google.com Settings: ISO 100, 24FPS, Shutter speed: 1/50 (has to be double of the FPS to get film look – 1/50 is the only setting available on a DSLR) Aperture: f/8 (for DOF for swing but some background separation) Full frame mode on a 50mm f/1.4 nikkor prime lens. I shot several sequences and edited with Adobe Premier Elements – Recommended video editing software. On the editing I colour corrected and warmed the footage to give a pleasing result and changed nothing much else.

Just Posted: In-depth Nikon D800 review

nikon_d800.png

We’ve just posted our Nikon D800 review. At 36MP, the D800 is the highest resolution camera you can buy without making the step up to medium format, it’s also one of the first DSLRs to offer uncompressed video output. Despite these drastic increases in capability over the D700, Nikon’s latest full-frame offering will be immediately familiar to any one who’s shot with one of the company’s high-end cameras. So what’s the D800 like to shoot with and does all that resolution render its competition redundant?

This provides an easy-access full-size HDMI connector while also protecting your camera’s miniHDMI socket from damage. The mounting plate is designed so that the camera can still be used with other mounts, tripod plates and accessories, in tandem with the LockPort. The LockPort800 will be available from June 2012 at a cost of $ 199/€99.
