Stereo 3D FIlmmaking Bootcamp

21 Dec

Stereographic filmmaking is the newest craze in Hollywood, in spite of the fact that 3D has been around almost as long as conventional cinema. Shooting a 3D film has become much more accessible in these days of digital video, miniature cameras and affordable digital editing systems. In this webinar, presented by award winning IMAX cinematographer James Neihouse, you will learn the basics of 3D/Stereo cinematography, beginning with the terminology then stepping though the process and methods of shooting in 3D. You will learn about 3D rigs, setting up the cameras, the effects of interaxial distance (the distance between the lenses), convergence of the cameras, screen size, and 3D editing techniques.

First of all, I would like to apologize for the lag. I had soo many background programs running and the only process that had normal priority was the recorder. umm yeah. I was testing a new 3D driver with Google Earth in directx mode. I thought it would be cool to run flight simulator. The locations used were the Grand Canyon and Mt. St. Helens. This is meant to be veiwed with special anaglyph glasses. Those are the ones tinted red on the left, and cyan on the right. If you happen to have some, congratulations. This driver not only works for Google Earth but for games that run Direct X. I’ve played Fear, Call of Duty 5, and Harry Potter :Order of the Phoenix, with the anaglyph and it’s pretty cool.

Cascadilla Oct 08 3D

20 Dec

Anaglyph (red-cyan) of the Cascadilla gorge trail in downtown Ithaca NY. Need Red-Cyan 3D glasses to watch. (I prefer the red-blue/green glasses better) The amazing “giants staircase” running thru Cornell University. some of these shots seem to work well, although the compression on youtube isn’t kind to anaglyph. This is my first attempt at uploading a higher quality version of these. Hope it looks better than the past. Many many more videos of the amazing Finger Lakes waterfalls yet to be finished.

Get the most 3d viewing out of two HD cameras. Click on the 3D mark under the Video and select the way you want. Stereoscopic , anaglyph , Red Cyan and more ways.

3D BBI Gold Animation (red & cyan glasses required).

17 Dec

Contact us for a pair of free 3D glasses info@atticusdigital.com Shortlisted for a Cardiff Design Festival award, Atticus produced this 3D stereoscopic animation for biotechnology company British Biocell International (BBI), to demonstrate the differences between high quality and low quality gold colloid, in a diagnostic test kit. This was produced in anaglyph format and shown at the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) conference, where it delivered plenty of ‘wow-factor’. This production was in anaglyph format, which meant the glasses were of the red and cyan type. Not as clear or colourful as with polarized glasses but very cost effective and easy to display on conventional monitors.
