Samsung has announced the NX300 – the latest in its NX series of APS-C mirrorless cameras. The NX300 is built around a 20MP sensor that includes phase-detection focus elements to allow a Hybrid AF system for faster focusing. It gains a larger, 3.3″ OLED touch screen with WVGA (800 x 480) equivalent resolution. A faster processor helps the NX300 hit nine frames-per-second for continuous shooting, and allows 1080p movies to be shot at 60fps. Upgrades to the camera’s Wi-Fi should make connectivity simpler than its predecessors.

Tuesday night at 8:56PM I received a message from The Hive gallery in Salt Lake City, they were in a bit of a bind. They had an art show, all about video games, opening in three days and due to a cancellation they were short one artist.
Video game show? I was in… I had absolutely NO idea what I could do with a day’s notice but I did already have a shoot scheduled the next day with the beautiful Kianna. It seemed meant to be.
We shot all four images within 12 hours of receiving the assignment. As you can see, we had a bit of fun.

Ok, I don’t know how to feel about this. What good could it possibly do any of us to look at a Camera without clothes on? Sure, it’s beautiful but… is it ok?
Is Canon just trying showing off, trying a little too hard to get our attention?

Anastasia Katoa | 1993 – 2012
I shot this image of Anastasia in November of 2009. It was our first and only shoot, though we discussed shooting again we had a bit of trouble synching up again… I’m bad at that sometimes.
In February of this year, when news came to me that she had passed away, I visited her facebook page in tears. I gasped when I saw she had used this image as the cover on her facebook timeline. Then I sobbed.
I hope we all take advantage of every opportunity to capture something beautiful. Life is fleeting but what we do with our lives can be immortal.
Rest in love Anastasia Katoa, thank you for gracing me with your smile that one November night. You are missed.
Over New Years eve of this year I followed my heart out to LA. When people asked why I was going I told them it was to try and meet interesting people doing interesting things, and I was telling the truth.
I had no idea what I was doing, I didn’t set up a single shoot or anything… but I absolutely knew I wanted to make something amazing, I just didn’t know quite what it would be.
Jillian introduced me to her friend Chase. I took a lot of videos. Small clips, 10 seconds to 2 minutes at a time. At first I was just fiddling with it, I had never really ever shot much video unless it was just behind the scenes at a photo shoot.
This time it was different, this time I was spying on amazing moments. Stealing them, or should I say borrowing?
Eventually Chase played his music. It was much more powerful than I’d ever heard, it was something. I could feel it.
He saw the look in my eye, he asked quite humbly if I liked it.
“Uhm, no,” I responded, “I loved it.”
His response was of genuine relief, he was glad someone else liked his music too. As the night wore on I talked about how I’ve been really interested in shooting music videos, he mentioned he’d love to make a music video too.
I looked down at my camera. Remembering the footage we had just shot on the roof in the setting sun…
“Dude.”
We all realized it at the same time… we had already started, without even knowing it.
I give you, the first of seven upcoming videos. A lyrical opera set to visuals, all filmed and created for love… on a shoestring budget with a lot of help from a lot of friends.
All real moments. The only way to truly fall in love.
