No DX7 will ever top a Rev 2. Love the analog kings!

Let’s hear a DX7 2 top this! Not going to happen in our lifetime.

rev 2 is best..SSM, baby! I’ll never sell mine..purchased back in mid-80s for couple hundred $..everyone was dumping their “obsolete” analog gear for DX-7’s. How times change…LOL

You are right about the Rev 3. It doesn’t quite have the guts of the 2. The 1 is nice also but unreliable and rare.
I used to watch a load of early eighties slash horror films as a kid but what I loved about most of them was the music and sounds, mostly made by these synths. The best mood synth ever produced and not a single VSTi can come close. Cool vid and even cooler synth!

This the real prophet sound. A rev 3 is great for synth pop but for sheer moodiness and emotion the rev 2 can’t be topped. Be very aware of the tech you choose to work on it. Stay away from the geekwood type. You will be paying for their education. And your synthe will be devalued in the proccess!

And people think the rev 3 sounds good….its does, but the rev 2 smokes it.

This beautiful film reminded me of visits to Skye and Orkneys. Your vibrant music captured the beauty of the landscape. The sounds moved and flowed organically and conveyed a feeling of space and freedom. Great variety in dynamics and tonal colours, painting with sound. It shows the expressive capability of the Prophet, Mr Smith would be proud! One of the most enjoyable synth videos on YT!
