its so wide that the lens itself makes a shadow from the flash light source

Is the dark spot towards the bottom a straight line or is it curved/not horizontal? If its a straight line, make certain your shutter speed is no more than 1/200 because of the curtain close

Hi, have you tried “Photo SFXart Tricks” (just do a Google search for it…)? On their website you can watch a good free video featuring how to make amazing pictures. This made it possible for Daniel to make pictures which leave you with a wow-effect whenever you look at them. I hope it works for you as well.

Wrong. That dark spot is always there when using kit flash. but using wide angle lenses opens up your frame so you can see it. It avoid it buy a cheap flash gun that’s higher than the kit flash.

i think the coverage area of the pop up flash is not as wide as the area covered by wide angle lens. So thats why you see dark at the margins.

im using the canon 10-22mm no hood just a uv filter, but with or without the filter the dark spot is there only when i use the pop up flash, if no flash is used the spot does not appear.

Likely either vignetting or could be the hood. What lens hood are you using?
