How do you reset a T2 35mm ? My pictures are 80% black with only the bottom 20% picture. I was goofing around and messed something up… Please help if you can…

Indeed, I was trying to help my daughter over the phone to clear her settings and her menu did not show the option (she was in auto mode).

I installed magic lantern 2.3 on my t2i and it works great. The only thing I noticed is that now my camera won’t turn on unless I have the SD Card in it with autoexec file on it. I even tried low level format and tried to update the firmware. It displays the new firmware.
Now I believe that the camera should be able to turn on without the sd card in it and is there is any way I copy the firmware onto the camera itself? Any help will be appreciated.
