low light, bokeh test with my Canon 35mm 1.4 on a 7D. Between 100 – 800 ISO.
Video demonstrating the wide and zoom capabilities of Nikon’s 18-300mm AF-S lens. Like I mention in the video, it is a bit heavy. Although considering how many lenses it replaces, it is a pleasure. However, compared to Tamron’s 18-270mm, it is noticeably heavier. Perhaps I’ll make a video comparing the two (Tamron 18-270mm to the Nikon 18-300mm) …thoughts? Enjoy!

Honestly, both companies have cameras that produce great video quality. If you are already invested in Nikon don’t feel that you have to make a new investment in Canon!

And what about distortion? You can not fix a video distorted as you can do with fixed..

Hello, this video seems very nice and just what I may need.. But I would like to take your opinion: I want to have this lens with D5200 and I’m into video as well as photo shooting.. Nikon film making seems not to be on par with Canon’s, Ex. 650D which produces very smooth videos with excellent focus… So what do you think? Thank you a million 🙂

Hello there, are you familiar with “Photo SFXart Tricks” (just search on Google for it …)? There you will find a nice free video featuring how you can create amazing photos. It made it easier for Matt to make pictures which have that jaw-dropping-effect after you take a look at them. Perhaps it will help you too…

Oh, well, the Tamron may be a better deal. I’m just very positive about the all-in-one aspect - whatever brand.

Yes exactly, my only problem with it is there is a Tamron lens that is almost exactly the same (Tamron’s all-in-one 18-270) and it’s less expensive, same quality, and MUCH lighter. Not to say this isn’t a great lens from Nikon– it is, I’m just saying this isn’t the only option out there, in terms of all-in-one lenses.

It is definitely heavy, but I enjoy NOT having to switch lenses all the time. Really love it on my Nikon D7000.
