thanks. i like lens flares, part of my shooting style, in my opinion it adds to a video, doesn’t ruin it

All Nikon lenses that have ever been made are F mount. I would say go with the F mount adapter

So there’s no way I can use a non-Ai lens with a D90 because of it’s internal motor… would you recommend converting the non-Ai lenses then? or just find one that’s compatible.

make your own video explaining these things and make it as a response.

There are a few things that you have wrong. Metering is never done by the lens, always by the camera, there is no metering in lens EVER. There are electronic contacts on newer lenses which tell the camera what the aperture is, thus your camera meters. On higher end bodies these lenses will meter non ai lenses just need a piece shaved off. i use the same lens on a d7000, it meters perfectly fine, same with my manual 28 series e lenses. d5100 will not meter these lenses

ok i should have written: inacurate 😀
You say some confusing stuff, e.g that the lower end bodys can’t use AF-lenses with AF. Sure they can, but the lenses got to have an internal motor and are called AF-S. In fact all AF-lenses are AI-S-lenses. The Automatic Indexing refers to the mechanical realisation of the aperture that is forwarded to the camera. There are different “camera-groups” that deal different with that…
hmm, i am out of chars – nice vid though

man this video really helped me alot! but i still have a few questions. i have 3 older lenses, they are Nikkor 55mm, Zoom 35-105, and Micro 105mm lenses. these lenses came from a manual film camera. I plan on to buy a DSLR that is compatible for these lenses, but im not sure which DSLR i can use. HELP

Thanks for the response, this video helped a lot, and know I’m using my AI lenses all the time, even more so then my 18-55 or 70-300. Oh, and by the way, is your NAI lens f/1.4 or 1.8?
