Olympus Micro 4/3 and Nikon AI Lenses for Movies and Photos

Written by

in

Combine the brilliant Olympus Pen series of Micro 4/3 cameras with the classic awesome lenses of Nikon manual focus primes. Achieve smashing depth of field and impressive bokeh for photos and movie clips. Your movies take on a Hollywood feel with blurred backgrounds and crisp sharp subjects. Observe the focus move up and down with amazing simplicity of turning the focus ring of the lens. Any Olympus or Panasonic micro 4/3 camera will be applicable for this video. Olympus currently has several models like the E-P1, E-PL1, E-P2, E-PL2, EP3 and other variants.
Video Rating: 5 / 5

Great video that applies to way more than Nikon lenses.

Does anybody know a cheap prime lens With about 20mm
It mustn’t be a Nikon, it could also be Canon or Sony

Your camera has a cropped sensor of 2x. Meaning your 44-2 has a focal length of 116mm. If you want a shorter view you would need a lens around 20mm (which would equal 40mm on your camera)

Hello there, are you familiar with “Photo SFXart Tricks” (google it)? There you can watch a nice free video explaining how to create brilliant photos. It made it possible for Daniel to create photos that have that wow-effect while you take a look at them. Hopefully it will work for you also.

I’m here because I owned a D40x, and every other camera in the profile that Nikon has released lately – the D5100, and D3200 are PIECES OF GARBAGE! Now the D600 has problems despite being 2k? You get that yet Nikon? BUH BYE.
I have your good glass, and I need a camera to use it on. You embarass the name with the slop you have released lately!

You can still find old Nikon 20mm f2.8 Ai prime lenses, but it is rare to find old zoom lenses with those wide angles of 14-42.

I have an olympus pen epl1 and use a heliso 44-2. With the small sensor and the adaptor. It seems more zoomed out. Is there any of those Nikon Ai lenses youve used in this video that will give you a good camera distance, similiar to the kit lens 14-42mm

Hi, are you familiar with “MagicSFXphoto” (just search on Google for it …)? There you will find a useful free video explaining the right way to create brilliant photographs. It made it easier for Daniel to take photographs which have that jaw-dropping-effect while you take a look at them. Hopefully it will help you also.

Ask a major camera store where to buy them, if you don’t have access to eBay. They are cheap and only about $10-20

As long as there is an adjustable aperture ring, it will be OK, but G lenses without aperture rings, the apertures cannot be adjusted.

is the adaptor able to accept the other nikkor lens other than Ai
    like the F mount type?

Nikon lenses where you can manually adjust (by your fingers, using the aperture ring) can be used. You can use any Nikon to M4/3 adapter regardless of brand.

Do you need a Fotodiox Pro Adapter to use these Nikon lenses? And only AI lenses can be used for Olympus Pen? How about AF, AIS, AFD….

I can’t imagine you being very drastic.
In my teens, I was. I eventually realized that the little things I was walking around pissed off about all the time were really unimportant in the grander scheme of life. I became much more easy going. At age 21, a friend caught my car on fire, destroying it. I figured that getting upset wasn’t going to magically restore it. It was just a thing… replaceable. My friend, who I was relieved to find was alright, was not replaceable.

Hahahahaaa! This reminds me of a guy who roomed next to me when I was at university. He would flip out over the most extremely small things and scream about it. One time, I heard his voice hit a pitch that no human male should be able to attain it was so high. It came to the point where he nearly had a complete break down.
I’m sure that Jack will be more careful in the future. I would be. I wouldn’t want to have you made at me, not for an instant.
