Yes it should be able to pick up the vocals well. You can select the input level so that it doesn’t clip and sound distorted.

TGR: I like the note combination you used, very nice. 😀
Anyway, so the sound quality on this video is from the “Zoom H2 Handy Portable Stereo Recorder”? ‘.’
I’m a singer and I’d like to rec where ever I want and I would like to know if it can pick up scream-singing? 😀
‘Cause, I’ve got a few songs that involve screaming and when I use the mic attached to my computer, it’s just to loud so I have to stand pretty faraway. xD
But, never mind that, I should be giving that question to a singer. xD

hi man, thanks for posting this video

one question: how much ISO did you need to use on this video, so that your regular indoors lighting was enough?

    thanks in advance

Well, if that’s an EVO on your desk, we both have that, a 60D, an H2 Zoom, and a black guitar. 🙂 Anyway, I just shot the first part of a documentary at last minute (got out my 60D and H2 with headphones) and when I got home my heart sank to hear the audio, even though it sounded loud on scene, and it was set to high gain, sounds MUCH quieter (at full volume) than the native audio on the 60D. Have you ever compared the two? Is there is noticeable lower level to the H2 zoom vs, 60D native audio?

    January 23, 2013 at 11:11 am

Yes the H2 can record audio by itself, then you will have to sync it with the audio from the internal mic on the camera. The H2 has an audio out so you can hear what its recording (thats how you hook it up directly to the 60d as an external mic). Im not sure it will be loud enough though if you hook up a headset to the H2, you might have to have some kind of headphone amp hooked to the line out of the h2.

so the h2 can record audio by itself, i want ot get a 60d with a rode videomic and record wit hthose together, the have a sound guy with the h2 recording anything that the rode missed. can i do that or does the h2 need to be connected to the camera, and can i put a boom mic into the h2and record with those 2 together? finally is there any way to put a headset into the h2, so my sound guy can hear whats going on while recording and if he hears something bad we can restart?

I think it can, since i mange to plug zoom h1 to my 60d just using 3.5mm male jack,. but i plug that cable in the h1 headphone output.

Hey, how’s the speed on zoom? I checked out the Tamron wide lenses and the zoom was so tight and hard to use. Lets say a canon zoom ring speed was a rating of 5/10 what would you rate the Tokina?

I realize this is kind of an obscure question, but I’d appreciate any help at all.
