Fujifilm issues firmware update for X-series and fixed lens cameras

Fujifilm has announced firmware updates for a number of X-series and FinePix cameras. Full details of the firmware updates were announced on the company’s blog, and the new firmware versions are now available for download from the global Fujifilm site. Included in this round of updates are the X-T1, X-Pro 1, X-E1, X-E2, X-M1, X-A1, XQ1, FinePix S1, FinePix XP70 and FinePix XP200. New Fujifilm X-series firmware adds direct instax printing

Fujifilm has announced a firmware update for three of its X-Series camera, allowing them to print images instantly from the instax Share SP-1 printer. The Fujifilm XQ1, X-M1 and X-A1 cameras updated with the new firmware will be able to send photos directly to the compact instax printer, rather than by way of mobile device as is currently the case. The firmware should be available in late June, and Fujifilm plans to add the feature to more cameras. Learn more

Fujifilm UK previews customized X-series cameras at TPS

Fujifilm UK is preparing a new service allowing certain X-series cameras to be customized with a range of different colors and body textures. The company has shown customized cameras at The Photography Show this week in Birmingham, UK, and pages for an ‘X Signature’ service are live on its website, but some pages lead to errors and the company has not enabled purchases yet. Rumors of inexpensive Fujifilm X-series camera hit the web

Leaked details of a possible inexpensive Fujifilm X-series cameras have hit the web today. The camera pictured in the leaked images is apparently named the X-A1, and appears to be built around a 16MP APS-C CMOS sensor instead of X-Trans, but otherwise it looks pretty similar to the recently released X-M1. Other leaked details mention a 3-inch tilting LCD, Wi-Fi, and 5.6 fps burst mode. Click through to see what it (might) look like.

Fujifilm X-series studio comparisons updated with new ACR 7.4 raw process

Following the recent public release of Adobe Camera Raw 7.4, we’ve updated our studio comparison database with new raw conversions of files from the Fujifilm X-Pro 1, X-E1 and X100S. We’ve been using the release candidate version of ACR 7.4 for some time, which contained significant improvements to Adobe’s treatment of files from Fujifilm’s X-TRANS sensors. The official public release version of ACR 7.4 brings some further (very minor) tweaks.
