Aimed at both beginners and advanced photographers, the guide offers an introduction to basic concepts like selecting frame rate and shutter speed, and includes how-tos for shooting a variety of video types. Read more

Ricoh offers Theta M15 360-degree spherical camera with video recording

Ricoh has announced the Theta M15, a second version of its 360-degree camera. The M15 is also capable of 360-degree spherical images, which can be viewed using Ricoh’s mobile app or theta360.com. The M15 adds video recording to its portfolio with clips up to three minutes. Learn more

Inspiration: Atbin Eslami’s Video Bio

Such a simple idea, and not so difficult to do—unless you count all of the self-inspection it will require. Iranian-born (now in Dubai) photographer Atbin Eslami's video-bio of herself first made me think, "that's really cool."

Hipstamatic updates Cinamatic with manual video controls

10 Oct

Cinamatic, Hipstamatic’s iOS app for capturing short video clips, has been updated to implement manual control over focus, exposure, white balance, shutter speed and ISO. This has been made possible by changes to the camera API in iOS 8. After the launch of the new OS manual control had been implemented in several still photography apps very quickly but Cinamatic is now the first video app to come with the additional controls. Read more

Photokina 2014 Video: The Samsung NX1
