Whatup? Here’s my tutorial for eliminating the jello effect caused by CMOS’s rolling shutter. This tutorial is set up using Nikon D90 footage (720, 24fps) so you might have to adjust the speed up percentage for your footage. The render times are pretty long, but it works pretty well. Direct link to HD version; www.youtube.com Phantogram version of 3D Miniature City Kobe entry of yesterday; www.youtube.com I had a chance to shoot Tilt-Shift, Timelapse and Hyper-Stereoscopic video to fake miniaturization of Kobe City. Twin GH1 separated about 3 m was used to shoot from 24th floor of City Hall of Kobe. I recognized that 3D effect might be effective to enhance more realistic miniaturization by Tilt-Shift and Timelapse techniques. Phantogram version is expected to be viewed by looking down 45 degree at the display set horizontally to see the 3D objects properly pop-up from the ground level located at display surface. Phantogram version is postprocessed by applying vertical perspective correction and disparity control so as to keep the disparity of all objects positive and the ground level to be set zero. This is not a perfect Phantogram as horizontal perspective correction is not applied in this case.

The six fairies have been integrated in the live action shooting of the most beautiful locations of Marche obtaining an even more spectacular result thanks to the use of the stereoscopic 3D projected on the big screen. Rainbow CGI has sent, in collaboration with Nuct, a troupe provided with a high resolution stereo-digital system that filmed some of the most beautiful locations of the region, reaching the peak of the Sferisterio of Macerata and then descending into the Caves of Frasassi, carrying on their back the complex and delicate stereoscopic shooting system which utilizes two cameras paired together through a mirror. They have also flied with an helicopter at 2200 mt. of altitude over the Sibillini Mountains using a hooking and suspension system for the two cameras that was devised for this very special occasion. The final achievement resulted in a great involvement of public that experienced the feeling of actually flying with the Winx and the success of the installation was confirmed by the great influx of people, that during the 15 exposing days reached …
