How I use 2 curves layers to clean and correct the skin, eliminating the need for cloning and giving a much cleaner and more realistic result than using blur techniques. Whilst this does take longer, the result is far better than that achieved with blur. I also introduce a temporary black and white layer to make identifying the flaws easier. Skin Tricks: Getting rid of under eye shadows, circles and wrinkles in Photoshop
This tutorial explains how to use Photoshop to reduce skin discolorations. I show you how to make a Soft-Light layer (filled with 50% gray), so the Dodge and Burn tools can be used to decrease or increase the density of our Soft-Light layer. This allows us to selectively lighten or darken areas of our photo. I demonstrate how to use layer opacity to make your retouch look more realistic and natural. (skill level=advanced)
