Samsung NX3000 real-world samples

The Samsung NX3000 is a rangefinder-style mirrorless interchangeable lens camera that sports a 20.3MP APS-C CMOS sensor, a 3″ flip-up LCD, 5 fps continuous shooting, and Wi-Fi with NFC. We took delivery of an NX3000 recently and we’ve been out shooting with it and the 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 power zoom lens to see how it performs in the real world. Samsung announces Galaxy Alpha with metal body and 12MP camera

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Alpha – the first Galaxy smartphone with a metal frame. With its 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED screen the Galaxy Alpha is similar in dimensions to the Galaxy S5 Mini but 6.7mm thinner. The device comes with a 12MP rear camera which is unusual in that no other current high-end Samsung offers this sort of megapixel-count but no information on sensor size and technology is currently available.

Samsung NX Mini real-world gallery updated with 17mm F1.8 samples

You’d know just by looking at it that the Samsung NX Mini is the slimmest and lightest interchangeable lens camera on the market. Tucked inside is a 1″-type, 20MP CMOS sensor along with Wi-Fi with NFC and 1080/30p video. The aptly named Mini also introduces a new NX-M lens mount. Camera Review: Samsung Galaxy S5

We’ve come to expect loads of camera features from Samsung’s high end smartphones and the Galaxy S5 does not come up short. The S5 offers a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor, F2.2 lens and 4K video recording. With claims of improved AF speeds and the addition of features like real-time HDR processing and Selective Focus, Samsung’s flagship device has a lot of potential as a photographic tool. Samsung reveals super-thin and high-resolution Galaxy S tablets

Samsung has launched two new high-end tablets. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 have very similar specifications and mainly differ in screen size. Both devices offer high-resolution SuperAMOLED displays with 2560×1600 pixels. Samsung’s earlier Tab Pro models came with the same resolution, but this is the first time Samsung combines such dense displays with SuperAMOLED technology. Learn more at connect.dpreview.com

DxOMark Mobile report: Samsung Galaxy S5 shares top spot

The Galaxy S5 is Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone and successor to the Galaxy S4. It comes with a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor, an F2.2 maximum aperture, 4K video capture and phase detection AF, but has to make do without an optical image stabilization system. That doesn’t hold it back much – DxOMark’s Mobile report gives its image quality full marks, making it a joint leader in their rankings with the Sony Xperia Z2. Learn more

Software update speeds up Samsung Galaxy S5 camera

Samsung has released a software update for the international version of its Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone. The new software is promising speedier camera and gallery app startup, plus more responsive fingerprint recognition. Apart from the faster camera startup, the update also brings improved general performance and better RAM management. Learn more

Samsung announces NX3000 mirrorless camera

The NX3000 is Samsung’s latest addition to its NX mirrorless camera line. Along with the 3″ flip-up display for self-portraits, it has a 20MP APS-C CMOS sensor and can shoot at 5fps. The NX3000 also comes with Wi-Fi and NFC ‘Tag & Go’ connectivity options. The NX3000 will ship with Samsung’s new compact 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 power zoom ED OIS lens. Samsung’s NX Mini is the slimmest and lightest interchangeable lens camera on the market. It packs a 1″-type, 20MP CMOS sensor into its body, along with Wi-Fi with NFC and 1080/30p video. With the NX Mini, Samsung also introduced a new NX-M lens mount. We’ve been shooting with the 9mm F3.5 (24.3mm equivalent) prime on the camera and having some fun with the Mini’s flip up LCD for the occasional ‘selfie’. See gallery
