Samsung’s NX Mini is the slimmest and lightest interchangeable lens camera on the market. It packs a 1″-type, 20MP CMOS sensor into its body, along with Wi-Fi with NFC and 1080/30p video. With the NX Mini, Samsung also introduced a new NX-M lens mount. We’ve been shooting with the 9mm F3.5 (24.3mm equivalent) prime on the camera and having some fun with the Mini’s flip up LCD for the occasional ‘selfie’. See gallery

The Fujifilm TCL-X100 is a screw-in teleconverter for the X100 and X100S which increases the effective focal length of their 23mm F2 lens to 50mm. We’ve been shooting with the TCL-X100 for a few days now, in a range of different situations and light levels to see how it performs in everyday use. We’ve been shooting with the Fujinon XF 56mm F1.2 R – the fast 85mm equivalent prime lens for Fujifilm’s X mount mirrorless cameras. Its F1.2 aperture means it gives similarly shallow depth-of-field to an 85mm F1.8 lens on a full frame body, making it an ideal portrait or low light lens. The Coolpix P340 is Nikon’s latest pocket enthusiast camera, featuring a large 1/1.7″, 12.2-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, full manual controls (P, S, A, M) and Raw image capture. The P340 has a versatile 5x (24-120mm equivalent) wide-angle to telephoto zoom range plus 10x Dynamic Fine Zoom and a fast F/1.8 maximum aperture lens with Lens Shift VR image stabilization. The 50mm F1.4 DG HSM is Sigma’s latest fast normal prime for full-frame cameras, and one of the most hotly-anticipated lenses of the year. But how does it perform in real-world use? We’ve been using the lens for a couple of days, and put together a gallery of samples. The Samsung NX30 is a midrange mirrorless camera that features a 20.3MP CMOS sensor and the company’s latest DRIMeIV processor. The NX30 has a Hybrid AF system that combines on-chip phase detection with more traditional contrast detection and photos can be composed on a fully articulating 3-inch AMOLED display or a unique pull-out, tilting electronic viewfinder. We’ve spent some time with a production sample to see how it performs out in the real world.

We just added studio test scene images to our First Impressions Review of the Nikon D4s. The D4s is a refined version of Nikon’s flagship DSLR, incorporating several changes – large and small – resulting from feedback from professional users. As well as minor ergonomic refinements and a slightly improved video mode the D4s also offers a highest ISO sensitivity of 409,600 (equivalent) – the highest we’ve ever seen. Sigma’s 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM | C is the latest version of its popular stabilized superzoom lens for APS-C / DX format SLRs. It’s smaller and lighter than the previous model (the 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 II DC OS HSM from 2011), but offers an updated optical design with improved close-focusing abilities. Sigma shipped us a sample a few days ago so we could try it out and we’ve been running around (in typically unpredictable Seattle weather) getting some real-world samples.
