Adobe Photoshop old photo restoration – photo touchup

This is a photo of my grandmother . The photo is the only one we have of her at this age . So I did a restore on the photo and increased the photo res from a very small , wallet size to a full 8×10 . This was done in Adobe Photoshop cs3 . The final picture took about 6 hours of touch up and finish work . I just wanted to show the bulk of the initial work for this vid . When I restore vintage photos or just do touch ups,they can be very time consuming . The music bed or backing track used in this photoshop cs3 example is Aerosmith Dream On acoustic version . 60-Second Photo Enhancement & Retouch — “Lianne Being Moody…”

This 60-second image enhancement & retouch shows how just a few changes can make a big difference an image. Though Sagelight has the Skin Smoothing retouch feature, this was not needed here. I added a soft-focus and the enhanced the contrast with the Dodge and Burn Brush. The was smoothed by the soft glow, and then sharpness was added back in via the contrast I added with the soft glow. I went especially contrasty in this picture, as her black jacket and hair, combined with the pink stripe of her hair complemented by her lips of the same color; all this made me want to create a very stark image to highlight her beautiful face — and that look! In this video i show you 2 ways to apply motion blur to an image of a stationary car to make it looks like it is moving. This tutorial uses the free software called GIMP which has many of the same controls as adobe photoshop and also with its easy use of layermasks makes it more simple than adobe photoshop elements. This is not a case of cheating photography but enhancing your images post produciton. I will also show you how to make the car stand out even more after applying motion blur.
