A lot of the clips where I actually get kills are fail-smite outs. I smite out someone, and I hit horrible so they manage to protect when I kill them as well as clips that were fails. Anyway, I haven’t made a video in a while because I haven’t been pking much recently. I’ve been skilling a lot lately. I’m going to start pking and gathering clips, I have some left to make another mini video so expect that in a few days. xoxo. Subscribe. #wolf-pack heart.issy

Just Posted: Studio test images from the Pentax K-5 II and its low-pass-filter-free sister model, the K-5 IIs. We’ve shot studio test samples with Pentax’s latest 16MP DSLRs. Not only does this mean you can see the differences between the K-5 II and the ‘s’ variant but it allows you to compare them with the original K-5 or almost every camera we’ve tested in recent years. It also means you can download the Raw files from either camera to process to your own tastes.

Just Posted: Our review of the Pentax K-30 16MP DSLR. The K-30 continues a Pentax tradition of building cameras around a strong photographer-friendly feature set. It may be less expensive than the much-loved K-5 but it gives up very little in terms of specification – it has a 100% viewfinder and a level of weather sealing unique at this point in the market. Nor does it skimp on software features, including intervalometer, distortion correction and image processing filters. So do these features add up to the perfect mid-level DSLR? Read our review to find out.

Pentax Ricoh announces Pentax K-5 II DSLR and K-5 IIs with no low-pass filter

11 Sep

pentax_k5ii.png

Pentax Ricoh has announced its latest flagship DSLRs – the K-5 II and K-5IIs. The ‘s’ version, which costs $ 100 more, comes without an anti-aliasing filter, to offer higher resolution at the risk of more prominent moiré interference patterns. Both cameras feature 16MP sensors and the weather-sealed magnesium alloy build of the original K-5. The biggest difference is the latest, SAFOX X, autofocus sensor. This is designed to work in lower light than any of its rivals (down to -3EV) it will also provide greater accuracy when working with F2.8 and fast lenses. The K-5 II will be available from October at a cost of around $ 1350 with 18-55mm WR kit zoom. The K-5 IIs will be available, body-only for around $ 1300 – a $ 100 premium over the standard version.

Pentax announces X-5 DSLR-like 26x zoom 16MP CMOS superzoom

25 Aug

pentax_x5.png

Pentax has announced the X-5, a 26x superzoom built around a 16MP backlit CMOS sensor. The X-5 is designed to closely resemble the company’s K-5 DSLR, despite being based around a 1/2.3″-type sensor. The lens offers a 22.3-580mm equivalent range, backed up with sensor-shift image stabilization. It can capture 1080p30 movies and features a selection of the multi-shot and image processing modes that have become common on CMOS-based cameras. It features a tilting 460k dot rear LCD and 230k dot electronic viewfinder. It is powered by AA batteries, giving around 500 shots per charge when used with NiMh rechargeable cells.

Just posted: Quick Pentax K-30 samples gallery

01 Aug

pentax_k30.png

We’ve prepared a quick samples gallery using the Pentax K-30 – Pentax’ latest mid-level DSLR with a 16.3MP CMOS sensor. We’re working on a review but recently technical writer Lars Rehm had the chance to take the camera and the 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 lens on a road trip down the coast on Highway 101 and to Crater Lake in Oregon, taking a lot of pictures along the way. The review is in the pipeline, but in the meantime we hope you enjoy these pictures, which should give you a taste of what the camera can do.
