EyeEm now lets you collect multiple model releases at once over text message

11 Oct

$ (document).ready(function() { SampleGalleryV2({“containerId”:”embeddedSampleGallery_9500155877″,”galleryId”:”9500155877″,”isEmbeddedWidget”:true,”standalone”:false,”selectedImageIndex”:0,”startInCommentsView”:false,”isMobile”:false}) });

If you license images of people, you know how much of a pain it can be to gather the appropriate model releases. For every photo, you need a new release, even if you’re uploading 20 photos of the same person from the same photo shoot. Well, no longer. EyeEm just introduced a multi-release feature that lets you handle multiple releases at once; what’s more, you can do it all over text message.

The feature is very straightforward, as EyeEm shows in this short demo video:

It’s a 5-step process.

  • Step 1: Log on to EyeEm on the web, open the notifications pane, and go to To Dos.
  • Step 2: Click “Releases for multiple photos”
  • Step 3: Select all photos that show the same person
  • Step 4: Click next and fill out the model’s name
  • Step 5: Click next and share the link with your model through your favorite messaging app—SMS, WhatsApp, FB Messenger, and more are all available.

That’s it. The model can select only the photos they want to release, and once they’ve signed you will receive a confirmation email.

This might seem like a small feature, but if you’re a prolific stock photographer, generating multiple releases this easily removes a serious pain point. Plus, these releases can be used on other platforms as well, including Getty, Adobe, Alamy, and others.

How the heck do you pronounce ‘bokeh’? PGN settles it once and for all

31 Mar

‘Why are we here?’ ‘Is there life on other planets?’ ‘How do you pronounce bokeh?’ Photo Gear News might not be able to help us answer all of our burning questions, but they have offered a definitive answer on that last one.

At this year’s Photography Show in the UK they polled a number of attendees on their version of the correct pronunciation. Not surprisingly, responses were varied. For all of our sakes, though, they got the definitive answer and put the matter to rest once and for all.

14 November, 2013 – Once Upon a Time in Olympus-Land

14 Nov

The family of Olympus Zuiko High Grade and Super High Grade lenses are among the best zoom lenses ever made. Originally designed for the Four Thirds format, they now have new life and a new home on the just shipping Olympus OM-D E-M1 due to its use of on-chip Phase Detection autofocus as well as Contrast Detection AF.

These lenses are expensive, but for anyone who wants the best possible glass, yet who values the versatility of zooms, there are none finer.

Grampy: Christmas Comes But Once A Year (1936) Max Fleischer Production

19 Oct

Max Fleischer’s Color Classics DVD Set! ? amzn.to XmasFLIX.com ? Like XmasFLIX! ? http Xmas MP3 ? XmasTRAX.com ? Podcast ? http An animated short produced by Fleischer Studios and released on December 4, 1936. You are viewing actual film in this video, with all it’s wonderful imperfections, however, I highly recommend getting the DVD boxed set called “Max Fleischer’s Color Classics: Somewhere in Dreamland” ? amzn.to The short begins in an orphanage, where the orphans are all asleep, awaiting Christmas morning. Just then, the puppy from the clock slides down a ramp and licks on one of the orphans. The first orphan shouts, “Merry Christmas, everybody!” And all the orphans jump out of bed and head to the hall, singing the title song. They grab the toys from their stockings, and get ready to play with them. However, they are sad to discover that the toys are completely broken and fall apart when they are played with. The orphans can’t help but cry. Meanwhile, Professor Grampy is out riding through the snow in his motor-driven sleigh, singing the title song himself. He hears the orphans crying from inside the orphanage, and he parks the sleigh, runs to the door, peeps through the window, and tries to think of a way to give the orphans a better Christmas. He puts on his thinking cap, and shortly, the lightbulb on the cap blinks. Apparently, he has an idea. He climbs through the window and starts making new toys out of household appliances. Finally, he dresses up as Santa
