Tamron officially launches 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 full frame superzoom

Tamron has officially launched its 28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD superzoom lens (Model A010) for full frame SLRs. A near-twin of the 16-300mm F3.5-6.3 for APS-C, it’s distinguished from the previous model by featuring an ultrasonic-type ‘Piezo Drive’ autofocus motor, splashproof construction and more-compact design with a 67mm filter thread. It’ll be available in Canon and Nikon mounts on June 26th for $ 849.

Tokina officially announces image stabilised 70-200mm F4 telezoom

Tokina has officially announced its first optically-stabilized lens – the AT-X 70-200mm F4 PRO FX VCM-S telephoto zoom. Designed for use with full frame SLRs, it has a ring-type ultrasonic motor for autofocus, and the voice coil motor-driven IS system promises three stops of stabilization. When used on APS-C / DX format SLRs, the lens will offer a 105-300mm equivalent zoom range. It will initially be available in Nikon mount, and will go on sale in Japan at the end of May for ¥150,000.

Fujifilm UK X Signature service officially launched

Update: Fujifilm UK has officially announced a service allowing certain X-series cameras to be customized with a range of different colors and body textures. The company showed customized cameras at The Photography Show earlier this week in Birmingham, UK, and partially functional pages for an ‘X Signature’ went up on its website, but the service is now live. Hasselblad officially launches 50MP medium-format CMOS camera

Hasselblad has started shipping the 50MP CMOS sensor camera that was first announced in mid-January. The new H5D-50c is a step away from the CCD sensors that have been standard in their medium-format digital cameras. Hasselblad says the H5D-50c can shoot up to ISO 6400 with dynamic range of up to 14 stops. What will the H5D-50c cost? A cool €20,900 (~$ 28,702).
