Small world: NASA and Gigapan release ‘Global Selfie’ panorama

In a unique spin on the typical Gigapan panorama we’ve come to know and love, the company teamed up with NASA on Earth Day this year for something big – an image comprised of self-portraits captured by citizens all over the world. When zoomed out, it resembles an image of Earth from space. The final product has been released, with submissions coming in from every continent. Take a look

NASA | Lunar Eclipse Essentials in 3D

When the moon passes through the Earth’s shadow, it causes the moon to look very unusual for a short period of time. This event is called a lunar eclipse, and it occurs roughly twice a year. There’s one viewable to folks outside of North America on June 15, so sit back and learn more about how lunar eclipses work in this video! This version of the video is presented in several formats of stereoscopic 3D that can be viewed by many kinds of 3D devices, including common red/blue paper glasses that you might have lying around! NASA 3-D Sun Extreme UltraViolet

Cross eyed technique www.starosta.com Courtesy: NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory and NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Scientific Visualization Studio This movie shows the Sun from the two STEREO spacecraft using the 171 Ångstrom filter in the Extreme UltraViolet Imager (EUVI). The 171 filter reveals ionized iron (Fe+8=Fe IX, Fe+9=Fe X) which forms at temperatures above 1.3x106K, and flows along the magnetic field lines of the solar active regions. New active regions come into view as the Sun rotates left to right.

Secret Industries Space Theatre Present’s – The Moon In 3D and In Colour. This is my first 3D film in Stereoscopic And Is A Test. A version that will require Cyan 3D glasses will be uploaded shortly. How to view this video in 3D without glasses: 1. Click on HD for the best possible picture. 2. Click on full screen. 3. To practise, Let the video start playing and then press pause. 4. Look at the video and relax your eyes. 5. slowly cross your eyes until 3 images appear. 6. Relax your eyes and focus on the centre image. 7. The centre image will apppear in 3D 8. Replay the film and enjoy the 3D experience. You may not get it the first time so practise. Once you know how, it is very easy. All Images Presented In This Film Are From The Apollo Space Missions And Can Be Found In The Nasa Archives. The original Apollo Mission Moon Images Shot By The Astronauts Appear Black & White And Show No Detail. This Is How Nasa Have Presented These Images To The General Public For The Past 40 Years.
