Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 real-world samples

Over the holiday weekend we spent some time shooting with Panasonic’s newest mirrorless camera, the Lumix DMC-G7. We put its new 16MP sensor to the test along with an improved AF system at the racetrack – the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, to be precise. Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 offers 4K video

Panasonic has announced the Lumix DMC-G7, updating its mid-range mirrorless line with 4K (30p/24p) video and still recording and some slight spec upgrades across the board. It offers a built-in 2,360k-dot OLED viewfinder, fully articulated 3″ 1,040k-dot LCD, improved autofocus speeds, 8 fps burst shooting (6 fps with continuous AF) as well as Wi-Fi connectivity. Read more

Hands-on with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 improves on its predecessor the G6 with a newer sensor, 2.36 million-dot electronic viewfinder and improved autofocus – plus this year’s must-have feature: 4K video. Panasonic came to see us recently and dropped off a working pre-production sample for us to look at. Click through for our first impressions.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 real-world sample gallery posted

Panasonic’s Lumix CM1 has the potential to break new ground in the territory between smartphones and cameras. It offers a 1-inch 20MP sensor, much larger than the typical smartphone camera chip. It also provides an F2.8 Leica-branded lens encircled by a control ring that can be used to adjust various exposure settings. We got out and about with it to see what its images look like. Panasonic introduces Lumix G 30mm macro and new 42.5mm portrait prime

23 Feb

Panasonic has announced two new additions to its Micro Four Thirds lens lineup, a 30mm F2.8 macro and 42.5mm F1.7 portrait lens. The company had previously hinted that the 30mm was in the works, and as promised it offers Mega O.I.S stabilization along with 240 fps drive AF. The 42.5mm F1.7 isn’t quite as fast (or presumably as expensive) as the existing Leica Nocticron 42.5mm F1.2. Both lenses will be available in May. Read more

Little, Improved: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5 review posted

The Panasonic Lumix GM5 is an almost unthinkably small Micro Four Thirds camera with a 16MP sensor, 3″ 921k-dot touch screen, 1080/60p HD video and built-in Wi-Fi. It follows in the already tiny footsteps of the GM1, adding a built-in EVF and more external controls to that camera’s point-and-shoot approach.
