  • 13, July 2014 – LuLa Team Is On The Move

The LuLa team is on the move. As you read this Kevin Raber is already in Svalbard, Norway  to lead two back to back photography workshops on the M/S Malmo.  Svalbard is just about as far north as any land mass can be.  From there the group will explore the area and head into the ice pack looking for Polar Bear, Reindeer, and Walrus.  In addition they will visit some beautiful landscapes and giant glaciers.  A full report will follow after the trips.  Don’t forget you can be part of adverntures like this.  Join us in 2015 for our Fly Over The Drake – Antarctica Workshops (spaces available on both trips)

Kevin will be testing a NEW 150-600 Tamron zoom lens and the Sigma dp2 Quattro. The Quattro is a most unusual camera and we will have a full report in August on this camera by Kevin and Michael.

Michael is headed south to Mexico and will be publishing articles on a  regular basis from there.  He will also be finishing a big project he has been working on and you can expect to hear more in a few weeks on it.  We have also been very busy working on a number of new video tutorials and we’ll have more news on those in August.

And, before much longer we’ll be off to Photokina and be reporting on the all the news directly from Germany.

  • 14 May, 2013 – Kevin Raber Joins LuLa as Publisher

This is an exciting day for me and this web site. My good and long-time friend, Kevin Raber, has joined The Luminous Landscape as our Publisher. In this role he will be responsible for site expension and development, as well as our advertising and workshop activities.

I remain as Editor in Chief and Primary Author of the site, and Chris Sanderson continues as Director and Producer of our video content.

Many of you recognize Kevin’s name. For the past thirteen years he has been a Vice Preseident at Phase One, and prior to that served in various executive rolls in the US photographic industry. His joining LuLa will allow us to actualize many of the plans that we have been putting in place for the past couple of years.

Welcome Kevin. It’s going to be fun!

  • 3 July, 2010 – LuLa Gallery in Toronto Closing & Print Sale

The Luminous Landscape Gallery is closing as of July, 2010. It’s been a fun three years since it opened, and I thank everyone who visited for your interest and support.

The gallery has served primarily as a teaching space and print studio. It also has functioned as a gallery whenever I was working there and in town, but given my travel commitments this hasn’t been often enough to justify keeping it open.

On next Saturday, July 10, 2010, from 11am until 3pm I will be having a print sale. This will consist of approximately 30 large matted and framed prints that are currently on display on the gallery walls, as well as a number of large format unmatted and unframed prints.

For those that are interested, I will be continuing my print studio and teaching activities out of my new studio space near Creemore, Ontario. Details to be announced. I may also have gallery shows from time to time at other Toronto area galleries, as I would in the days prior to my Carlaw gallery.
