One of the greatest early Musli statesmen & generals, he was appointed by the Prophet (SAW) as the governor of Oman. His political & military acumen was second to none. He was given the leadership of Muslim force in Palestine by Syedna Abu Bakr (RA) & he played a vital role in the battles of Ajnadin & Yarmouk.Under his inspirational leadership Muslims conquered Al-Quds (Jerusalem). He urged Syedna Umer(RA) to permit him to lead a campaign to Egypt. Eventually he acquired the permission & consequently conquered Egypt. May Allah be pleased with Him.
