LowePro expands ProTactic lineup with four new bags

Triggertrap expands compatibility to Apple Watch and Pebble smartwatches

Triggertrap has updated its Triggertrap Mobile app to make it compatible with the new Apple Watch and Pebble range of smartwatches. The app now allows these smart watch devices to be used to trip a DSLR’s shutter via the wireless connection between the watch and the iPhone or Android smartphone. Read more

Lensbaby expands offerings to Fujifilm X mount

Lensbaby has announced availability of several of its most popular lenses for Fujifilm’s X mount. The Composer Pro with Sweet 35 Optic, Composer Pro with Sweet 50 Optic, Circular Fisheye and Velvet 56 are all now available for Fujifilm’s mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. Read more

Toshiba expands its Exceria Pro SD card line to include 64GB and 128GB models

Electronics giant Toshiba has announced higher capacity models of its high-speed Exceria Pro SD cards, increasing the maximum storage available to 128GB. The 16GB and 32GB Exceria Pro cards have existed for some time in European markets. Toshiba claims they achieve read speeds of 260MB/s and write speeds of 240MB/s, and the new 64GB card is said to follow suit. The highest capacity 128GB card offers a read speed of 260MB/s but a write speed of 150MB/s. Read more

Olympus expands wide angle offerings with 7-14mm F2.8 and 8mm F1.8 ‘Pro’ lenses

Olympus has announced two additions to its Micro Four Thirds ‘Pro’ lens series, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm F2.8 and 8mm F1.8 Fisheye PRO. Both are weather and dust resistant and lighter than their competitors, according to the company, and both are slated to become available in June. Read more

Flickr Wall Art expands to include Creative Commons images

Flickr Wall Art now allows users to order prints from more than 50 million photographs, the service has announced. This follows Wall Art’s arrival in October, and moves to include all applicable freely-licensed Creative Commons images, licensed artists images, and a curated selection of content from NASA. Read more

Apple expands OS X Mavericks Raw compatibility

Apple has issued an update for OS X Mavericks, adding Raw support for ten recent camera models. Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 5.06 provides system-level support for Raw files from the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III, Olympus OM-D E-M10 and Nikon 1 V3. Ricoh expands Q series with Pentax Q-S1

Ricoh has announced the Pentax Q-S1, its latest compact interchangeable lens camera with a Q lens mount. It offers some cosmetic updates, but the internals like a 12MP 1/1.7-inch BSI CMOS have remained largely unchanged from the previous Q7 model. The Q-S1 will be sold in 40 different color combinations when it becomes available in September for a price of $ 499.95/£379.99 with kit zoom. Read more

Sony expands image sensor production for mobile devices

Reuters has reported that Sony is planning to invest 35 billion yen (approximately US$ 345 million) to expand its manufacturing capacity of smartphone and tablet image sensors. Sony says the investment will allow for a 13 percent increase in production to 68,000 wafers per month in 2015. Sony leads the market for smartphone imaging sensors, and supplies the sensors for Apple’s iPhones and a large number of Android smartphones. Read more at connect.dpreview.com
