Deal 4: Our Best Selling Portraits eBooks are $7 Each

17 Dec

Today we’re rolling out a deal that our team are very excited about – our best selling Portrait eBooks are just $ 7 each for the next 24 hours!

Portraits $ 7

Over the last couple of years we’ve worked with talented Aussie portrait photographer – Gina Milicia – to put together this comprehensive library of portrait eBooks.

There are four in the series that cover everything from taking your shots, lighting your subject, posing your subject through to processing your portraits.

Every time we’ve added to the series we’ve seen them push our servers to the limits so tonight we’re a little worried as we’ve never discounted all four of them this low at the same time!

These eBooks normally sell for $ 19.99 but are yours today for $ 7 – a saving of 65%.

Can’t Stop at Just One? Bundle Them!

Pick up any of the above eBooks for just $ 7 (USD) or… grab the full set for just $ 21 PLUS we’ll throw in our popular quick reference cookbook – 14 Recipes for Amazing Portraits as a bonus.

NewImage

This great little cookbook is the perfect companion to the rest of the bundle and walks you through 14 portraits, how they were shot, how they were lit, how they were styled, the gear that was used etc.

That’s 5 eBooks worth close to $ 90 that are yours today for just $ 21.

Grab 1 for $ 7 or Buy the Lot – But Don’t Wait too Long!

Whether you pick up one of our portrait titles for $ 7 or pick up the full set for $ 21 – just be sure to get in before this deal is gone for good in just 24 hours time.

Invest in your portrait photography here.

[MODIFIED] Google Chrome – View Memory and CPU Usage, Network Activity of Each Tab

22 Apr

Display memory, CPU, network, and other Google Chrome usage details.

For those trying to diagnose computer or networking issues when visiting resource-intensive websites, or just the merely curious, Google Chrome includes a Task Manager. This displays the amount of memory and CPU used by the browser and each tab as well as network activity, process IDs, and for developers the frames per second and ports used to debug native client apps (NaCl debug port). This way, you can determine if a particular webpage is using too many system resources, possibly slowing your computer down.

If you want extra information, a “Stats for nerds” screen shows the memory broken down by private and shared, as well as virtual memory usage. This details screen can even show basic memory usage statistics for other browsers such as Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox….

Painting Robot Plans Each Stroke Of Its Own Masterpieces

12 Jul

[ By Steph in Gadgets & Geekery & Technology. ]

eDavid Robot Painting

If you think humans in creative professions aren’t in danger of someday being replaced by robots, which ostensibly don’t possess the ability to produce real art, you’re going to want to watch this video. A robot called e-David watches itself paint and constantly adjusts its style and technique, planning each stroke in succession to create works of art that feel much more alive than you might expect.

eDavid Robot Painting 2

The team behind the e-David project equipped a standard robot with all the necessary means for painting, including five different brushes, a range of 24 colors, and a camera so it can watch itself independently while painting.

eDavid Robot Painting 3

eDavid Robot Painting 4

The robot takes a picture of what it’s going to copy, and then processes it through its software to determine where to add dark or light tones to reproduce the original. It can even decide to switch brushes or clean them.

eDavid Robot Painting 5

The paintings created by the robot aren’t determined by a human programmer; they’re really and truly the creation of the robot itself. It even signs them. Of course, robots can’t express emotion – yet – so they’re still pretty far from being able to capture the spirit of human-created art. But give them a few decades.

Had a chance to interview Tom Howie, VP of Sales and Marketing for Glidecam at NAB last month and he was gracious enough to share, in great detail, the proper way to set-up and fine tune the Glidecam HD 2000 (or any Glidecam HD) during the interview. During the process he candidly answers questions that I’ve seen floating around the forums relating to the use of not only the Glidecam products but all similar devices. Here’s a (very 😉 rough cut of the part of the interview that directly relates to setting up, fine tuning and actually using any of the Glidecam HD units. After the setup instruction he shares some interesting tips and exercises to help us get ready to shoot successfully with the rigs. I cut a lot out and split it into 3 parts but it’s still 38 mins long (total) so grab a cup of coffee and settle back for an in depth look at the proper way to set up and start using the Glidecams according to Tom and Glidecam.. btw: Schy Gleason, our cameraman on the interview had to shoot from out in the aisle at NAB which as you might guess is not an optimum place to be at anytime. So please excuse any bounces or sudden position/focus shifts as he was constantly struggling for space. Shot in available light at ISO 640 on a Nikon D7000, GenusTech shoulder rig and Bravo follow focus. Recorded on Zoom H4N and painlessly synched with Dualeyes (Thank you Singular that was a lot of pieces to sync ;-).
