Following last week’s update to the Canon EOS 70D preview, we’ve been spending a little more time with the camera to get a feel for its new Dual Pixel CMOS phase-detect autofocus system. What we’ve seen so far has impressed us: in live view the camera offers very responsive AF, eliminating the annoying focus seek we’ve seen in past models. The folks at Magic Lantern are no stranger to adding new features to Canon DSLRs, courtesy of their EOS Camera Tool software. Their latest creation, Dual ISO, increases the dynamic range of the 5D Mark III and EOS 7D by four stops, bringing the total dynamic range to 14EV. This allows you to pull detail out of the shadows with a lot less noise than with the ‘stock’ firmware. Click through for more details.

dual camcorder 3D gyro stabilized rig

27 Sep

It uses two Canon HF-M32 camcorders and two Kenlabs KS-4 gyro stabilizers. It is supported by a highly modified FloCam. This 3D video was shot with a Sony HDR-TD10 3D camcorder
